Maytag Presents: The Los Angeles Story - 16mm Film

Cool vintage footage! My parents were married in 1955 and spent their honeymoon in L.A. Oh, I bet my mom would have loved a Maytag when they were first married, but we were relatively poor, and she used a wringer washer up until 1966! I was three years old and remember when the automatic (an...

CBS Sunday Morning - Men who do laundry

Fun to watch that again! I noticed the error Bill Geist made when he referred to your charcoal Frigidaire set as Blackstone. Ooops!

Looking for some info on my Beatty waher

Mid-1940s... Hello and welcome to the club! Since you don't know me yet, I'll introduce myself - Brad here. I'm more of a Maytag wringer washer afficianado, but do have some experience restoring Beatty machines from the 1930s. This one looks like mid to late-1940s. Like Maytag, during WW2...

    New Maytag wringer washer agitator

The little breather hole... Stan, it is to allow the excess air under the agitator to escape, but the ring keeps the air-lock over and around the drive shaft. P.S. the Model 30WP and the 32 are both running beautifully, as is the E2LP. I try to rotate them on different washdays to keep...

    New Maytag wringer washer agitator

Keep in mind, if you do decide you want to drill a hole, it's situated on the OUTSIDE of the inner ring. That ring creates an air-lock so that water is prevented from accessing the drive shaft and seal.

How To Use A Vintage Washing Machine - Hotpoint "Empress"

Thanks for the YouTube link! Never have seen this guy's vids before. He gives a very thorough instructional video of the operation. I visited a friend in England who had one of these (along with many other models). It's a very good machine - the split wringer is modeled after that of the...

Available: Maytag gyratator for wringer models 15 and 25

Hey Tom, Actually, the drive post is made of bronze, so it is not subject to corrosion, although the aluminum agitator is, of course. This particular agitator (part # K923) is for round tub models 15 and 25. The agitator post is taller than that for the models A/30/32.

Easy Spindrier shown in "Driving Miss Daisy"

Hello all, I recently re-watched "Driving Miss Daisy" and noticed there is an Easy Spindrier shown in the kitchen. It's the older type with two handles, rather than the central dial control knob. Here's a pic ...

    Loretta Lynn's homeplace has a Maytag Model 90 !

Curious if anybody has visited the Loretta Lynn homeplace in Butcher Hollow, KY. It's on my list of historic places to visit - and watching a couple of YouTube videos, I see that a Maytag Model 90 is part of the artifacts collection! Now there's a restoration project that I would be thrilled...
