    update I took the back off to check the wiring. The element reads 13 ohms. But the connection on the motor is burned. I put a new terminal on the green wire but the male end on the motor is very loose. Is this okay? I don't want a fire! Can I replace the terminals on the motor? Or must I...

    Maytag dryer comparison

    I have a DE407 it works fine and is in OK shape. Would it be worthwhile to change up to a DE806? I'm not sure if I like the non-adjustable dryness on an 806. Which one would last longer? I don't really have room for both. What do the experts think? Thanks, Nicholas

    Update I took the dryer apart and found it to be very dirty. It seems to work fine so far now (fingers crossed). At least I found a $1.25 inside:) Here's the before picture.
