Hello, My mum has a Whirlpool washing machine from back in the day and it's still going strong. It completes the wash cycle but will not spin until she hits the lid quite hard. I'm wondering how the lid switch works on this machine as I can't see any buttons or hinge levers.

HOH advice I could use some help with my mom's HOH. The lint filter just slides off the spindle in the back. That spindle has a ridge that I assume held some kind of gasket to hold the filter in place - if so, that gasket has gone missing. I can buy replacement filters online but am not...
