Samsung Activewash - A washer with a sink

I'd rather take this, much much more stylish! And much much much more reliable than Samsung and with real aftercare and a firm to trust! http://www.smeg.com/product/lbl14b/ http://www.smeg.it/comunicati-stampa/lavabiancheria-lbl14/

what is your dream washing machine and dryer

If I were to choose from the retro American world I'd love to have a pair of Frigidaire "Control Tower" from the late 50s in charcoal grey colour as I've seen on here, probably the most stilish American-style machines ever built. European vintage? Just give me a classic Candy washer/dryer like...

Smeg just relased a dishwasher monster

Where are these things made? They're made in Bonferraro di Sorgà (VR), Veneto, northern Italy

Smeg just relased a dishwasher monster

As I said before, only in the USA! Here, espresso (and all the other kind of coffee beverages like cappuccino or even "americano"!) are prepared with boiling or near boiling water (or milk) so there's no chance they could be made even hotter and as cups are pre-heated before using in most of the...

Smeg just relased a dishwasher monster

That's hardly something new on the market! It's been on sale here since early 2012 in two models, integrated and all stainless-steel clad in free-standing. http://www.smeg.it/prodotto/stp364/ http://www.smeg.it/prodotto/lp364x/ As far as the energy rating goes, both machine achieve an A++...

Internet Browsers in the Corporate World

At home I use Waterfox as I run a 64bit OS, basically it's the same as Firefox, except it's a 64 bit build. At work IE for the intranet, Chrome (which I loathe with a passion) for internet.

Germany's "Vintage" Solution to High-Tech Snooping

When Olivetti meant something... I have this machine sitting on my desk, an Olivetti Diaspron 82, wide carriage. Made in 1958 and used at my uncle's office up to 1997!!! Still works wonderfully! I love this machine as it makes typing so much easier with its low force buttons and red and black...

Staycation Day 2: Let's Overstuff The Washer!

I'm so pleased to see an American machine stuffed the way I'm used to (and that the machines I have are designed to handle!) :) Photo n° 5 shows it is perfectly loaded as when wet the garments fill the drum only 4/5 or less so there is plenty of tumbling space for the wash! Also I'm pleased to...

Whirlpool Enters into Purchasing Indesit Merloni Stocks & Shares

I was shocked! No more Hotpoint/Indesit endorsement from me from now on... I really can't believe how easily things were exchanged! I fear for all the workers and what will happen to the Indesit (and Hotpoint) ranges (Aqualtis, Innex, etc...) as Whirlpool always had, since I know it, zero line up.

    Induction Cooktop

Beware of Fagor, the company went bankrupcy in late October 2013. I don't know if the US brach was indepentent of the main European part of the company. I'm currently in Spain for a conference and I was told that the brand simply disappeared overnight after the bankrupcy declaration leaving...

    First "built in" appliances

I always thought that the American concept of "built-in" (also the "modern" one) is really different to the one I'm used to here in Italy! :) At least from the photos I've seen the "built-in" appliances are just put into a recess of the walls or furniture and that qualifies as "built-in" Over...

    Zanussi Lindo washers & dryers
