    HOOVER A3804 AUTO WASHER

I would check the pressure vessel for sediment build up.

    Converting Stove for LPG

Oven Well, I fitted the new jets to the hob and then wondered if one of the old ones would be the right size to convert the oven. I had never checked out the oven but it also runs too hot and makes soot. It is just as well I took off the burner cover today though, as there was a large build up...

Inside glass broken on oven window

Hard to tell without seeing it but I wondered if you could wrap some foil round it and put it back.

    Converting Stove for LPG

It looks like I have found the answer by looking at Ebay listings for jets. It appears they have pretty much standardised the thread size etc on European cookers and mine are that type (M6 x 0.75mm with 7mm AF hexagon). Ironically the supplier is in Hungary but sells on Ebay US and UK. Even if...

    Converting Stove for LPG

Thanks, I had not thought of trying a different regulator but will give that a go in case the one on the stove is faulty or whatever.

    Converting Stove for LPG

I just wondered if any of you have experience in re-jetting a stove to run on bottled gas, for example butane / propane mix, instead of methane? Am I right in thinking the jets are smaller for LPG? If this is the case it means you can't just drill them out slightly (assuming suitable drills...

    Controller Boards

I don't remember ever having to change a module on a Hotpoint 95 series, they were extremely reliable. It is good that there is the expertise within the group to design and build such boards though.

    Hoover Ecologic A3954

If it worked OK last year there is probably not much wrong. You could try unplugging the timer and switch connection blocks and spraying the contacts with Servisol switch cleaner. It could just be a bit of dirt or corrosion on a contact.

    Servis Supertwin Mk1

I wonder if belts from other machinery would fit, drill presses for example? It is always more difficult if you don't have an old one to show prospective suppliers though.

    Servis Mk70

A jockey pulley is there to put tension in the belt, not take it out! Tumble dryers normally have them because the belt tension could otherwise vary with temperature as things expand and contract. On the spinner you will also get variation of the belt temperature due to frictional heat between...

Servis mk2 auto wash twinnie restoration-in progress

I can't really tell from the photo what the problem is with the new hose but sometimes you can modify them by cutting the hose at a straight section and inserting a short length of a suitable size copper pipe and clamping the assembly with jubilee clips.

Good luck with it! Keep us informed of progress.

That timer knob bush comes in 2 different lengths but don't panic if the new one is a different length to the old, it should still work OK. Sometimes the teeth break on the inner cam part as well so you may need both bits.
