I will check other things as you suggested, there is no set screw on my agitator how do you remove that from the shaft? What other problems should I look for first . Thank you

Pump seems to work fine started spinning made noise motor cut out waited 15 minutes or so everything came back on still made noise when spinning

It takes 2 or 3 cycles on permanent press the reg cycle seems ok

1970 De406 not drying clothes on permanent press cycle need to run 2 or more cycles

My dryer does not seem to dryer completely on the permanent press cycle it seems to work fine on regular cycle any suggestions? Also how should the belt tensioner work?

my de406 dryer sounds like its binding when you first start it up , i took the blower apart on the blower fan #300-843 you have to brass bearings they fit in bakelite bushing's on the pulley side the bushing is solid , on the fan side the bakelite bushing rotates , is this normal? my dryer drum...

de406 noise to john l , thank you for your reply , i put new belts on it and replaced the bushing in the alum tensioner pulley to the right of the back side , what is the best way to lube the blower bearings

hello, i have a 1970 maytag de406 dryer , when you first start it it makes kinda of a binding nosie when the drum turns over after about 3-8 minutes it spins and runs like it should . any thought's please help i want to keep the old dryer going
