Adding a water pump to a wringer washer

Thanks so much Luckily I was able to get the pump working on my Easy wringer washer after rebuilding it (my backup plan was to add in a newer pump).   I shall file this info away for future restorations as I do have a Maytag Model 32 that didn't come with a pump.

What the heck am I looking at here?

So I must thank you for the push to just dive in and fix the darn thing! The "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take" really convinced me to do it and I'm happy to say she's up and running! In the end I figured that worst case if it turns out not to be fixable, I can always bypass the pump...

What the heck am I looking at here?

Thank you! I did try to take the pump off last night but I can’t get at it without taking off the motor and possibly not even then. I’m nervous to take it apart and then not be able to put it back together. I was thinking about wiring in an additional electric pump that I could hide under neath...

Adding a water pump to a wringer washer

Has anyone here done this? I’m looking at adding an inline drain pump to one of my wringer washers and I’m wondering what the best way to do it is. I’ve seen people mention wiring one in and having a switch but I haven’t been able to locate specifics. So far I’ve seen in-line aquarium pumps and...

What the heck am I looking at here?

Thank you! Ahh, that makes more sense. I was thinking it must be something like that but the only thing I could think of was the "Good Housekeeping Seal" LOL

What the heck am I looking at here?

Thank you everyone for your info! So I went and saw the washer today and I did end up buying it. Everything at the shop looked really good: motor ran well, no leaks, agitator moved water briskly (although it did squeak to high heaven). The only thing I did notice was that the pump seemed to be...

What the heck am I looking at here?

Long story short, I’ve been having a bit of a rough few days and after another washer I was looking at didn’t pan out I found this fella. I messaged the seller and he said everything works as it should and that it was made in the 30s-40s (which seems a bit of an early estimate to me). He says...

Opportunity to purchase an Easy Spindrier...

Thanks everyone for your info! I checked things out this afternoon and it's a real mess. First problem started when we poured in hot water and it leaked like a sieve. Found out the the bottom hose would need replaced but I figured that was an easy fix. Then upon trying out the motor, found it...

Opportunity to purchase an Easy Spindrier...

Thank you so much! Luckily I'm familiar with the shop owner so she will most likely let me test for leaks and plug it in. What do you mean by "filling and starting up cold?" Should I let the motor run for a couple of min before attempting to add water? I did notice that it is sitting in the...

Opportunity to purchase an Easy Spindrier...

Clarification Here is a photo from online of the part that seems to be missing. I'm guessing it would theoretically work with just the little metal tabs sticking out right?

Opportunity to purchase an Easy Spindrier...

Do I dare? I've noticed an Easy Spindrier at an antique store near me. I got a chance to take a peek but not to test it out yet. Cord appears intact, both lids are present, tub inside is clean, spin side looks pretty good and outside paint is fairly intact. Unfortunately I didn't get the...

    Refurbishing a Maytag Model 32

Hello all, I have a Maytag 32 that I purchased a few years ago and I would like to refurbish it as a "daily driver." As our laundry room is currently gutted and I find myself in my kitchen doing the weeks wash in my "gray ghost" I have run into a couple of dilemmas. The machine works well...
