I picked up the megaperls bag on the left but that is interesting and something to consider. I ended up grabbing some powder and some perls to see what I like more before committing to either.
I still have plenty of Tide Original powder and Tide WB powder left but I am curious if Persil is...
Thanks! So how does 1 choose between Persia Perls and Powder? Does it just come down to price per load to account for concentration or are Perls better in other ways too?
Launderess and Bob, thank you for the fantastic info. It sounds like the Zeolite content in Perls should be of no concern as long as dosing is correct. If the assumption is right, do you recommend Persil Color Perls over Persil Color Powder? I have found the following pricing:
Persil Color...
Good idea. I’ll do that.
Any insight on Persil Color Universal performance vs Cheer Powder? I’m concerned about the amount of zeolites in Megaperls. That seems like a very high percentage. Am I overthinking it?
Since I am unfamiliar with Persil. Is Persil Color Powder stronger than Cheer Powder? In other words, trying to determine if the extra cleaning power of Megaperls is necessary at the risk of more Zeolites.
I also noticed some Persil color powder boxes are Red and some are Green and Red. Any...
Thanks for the fantastic info.
I’ve been debating between Color Megaperls, Color Pulver, and Color Professional to replace Cheer powder (which I was very happy with). What is the difference between these 3 versions? Persil is cheaper than Cheer (eBay)

This is a great thread. Am I right to conclude that Megaperls has more Zeolites and more cleaning power?
I’m debating between Color Megaperls and Color Pulver to replace Cheer powder (which I was very happy with). Could I mix in a little oxi to mimic Cheers chlorine neutralizer?
I’m coming to end of my Cheer powder stash and need to find an alternative powder without OBs for darks/colors. I really liked Cheer cleaning performance and used it for lights as well to prevent fading on some of our nicer light clothing. I use Tide powder for everything else.
Anyways, what...
@decoy
Totally agree! The increased water level removes odors significantly better. I noticed this immediately with my first was post water level increase. I have also noticed less pilling likely due to less friction with the increased water level. I have not noticed any reduction in stain...
Mark - Good question and the answer is No and Yes. I did half turns only and I ran empty test cycles set on Towels (to get an idea of max water) for a few minutes and then drained. I noticed a difference with each turn. It wasn’t a drastic difference but it was definitely noticeable. However, I...
Mark and Decoy
@mark - I made half turn adjustments at a time. After each adjustment, I ran a test cycle (towels) to see how much additional water was in the drum. This isn’t full proof as the water level will be higher with clothes in the drum but gives you a good starting point. I then left...
Temperature
I adjusted my water level on my LG FL yesterday. The results are fantastic however I find myself in a balancing act of Water Level Vs Temperature. The increased water level has decreased the temperature of the water by about 3-5 degrees Celsius. Has anyone else observed this?
