My personal washer is a 2012 Hydrowave, my folks have a 2011. Both do a fine job, although I wish they would fill with a full tub of water. Everything comes out clean, although during spin the washer is rather loud.

I don't mind "low water wash" but Whirlpool seems to go too far with it. I have a 2013 Ge top loader, it fills about halfway on the super setting and washes well on all cycles, but filling with just a few inches of water ala the new whirlpool stuff is not good. Filling to the top also appears...

Mmm, now don't get me wrong, I like my Hydrowave and was at first upset to learn GE was doing away with them. That wash action on the new washer makes me think twice, it seems better at low water washing then the hydrowave washers. Andy

I do not think the lint filter has any impact on cleaning, however I am still a novice. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge could chime in?

First I would clean out the dryer, see if something is causing poor airflow. Did the repair person say what part or parts failed in the dryer? That might give you a clue as to what might have caused the failures. Kenmore dryers are made by Whirlpool, and as rule are good dryers. That video...

If this is anything like my 2013 ge, max fill is half way to the top. This is good for most loads, for mega loads I trick it fill a bit higher. It would be nice to have a feature that allows you to add more water by holding a deep wash switch.

Sounds like a major failure of the drive system, maybe some sort of shipping damage. Sears should agree to take it back without question as it is clearly defective. Sorry the GE did not work out for you, hope the next washer works out better.
