I think I did use too little detergent. Something in me said to use more but I haven't dealt with cig smoke so I had no clue how to deal with it. I guess I could have googled it but my first thought was to come here first... I wasn't sure about bleach because that almost NEVER lets you down...

OK, Got back with a comforter someone gave me... It was never used but opened to be looked at and it just laid there in a room for a couple of years of someone who smoked. That thing REEKED of not fresh cig smoke, but STALE OLD built up smoke... So I ran it through the washer on a soak cycle...

I recall they did decently on thin items... it was anything puffy or thick that it was absolutely horrible with. Didn't move in the least. What was on top stayed on top, what was on the bottom stayed on the bottom.. and this was NOT overloaded either. It was like a regular load of jeans. Again...

I barely use any FS either... Most of the time I find I don't use it...even if it's a small bottle it takes forever. I can totally do without it.

ajar isn't enough for the dispenser/housing... I mean, it's better than nothing but it really does help to take out, dump water and just leave it out on top of machine or something so the housing can dry out for a few hours, then just put it back 1/2 way or something until the next time you do...

Even here the water is FREEZING cold in the winter....I can't remember using the cold fill setting... at the very least it's always warm, most of the time hot... I knew cold water wasn't good for the machine in terms of build up... I had no clue it could shorten the life in other ways if it's...

But here's the thing... how do you even know if you have surges? And if you do or don't have a surge, how do you know that that was the cause of a control board dying? That's what I've been saying. I honestly do not know if the surge protector is even doing ANYTHING at all. The only data I have...

My goodness... I didn't even think about it being a "proper" surge protector or possibly even counterfeit... Probably 2008 (yes, it's been that long) I had one of those (I guess cheap) flat surge protectors that multiple things can be plugged into...with lights on it that are STILL ON to this...
