waste disposer for sale anyone? UK guys!

This line got me: "Food Waste Disposers use goes against the EU Waste Hierarchy1 by not encouraging waste prevention and minimisation" Its typical of the EU, so if I do not have a disposal, I am going to what? - eat all the food scraps like chicken bones from my plate rather than put them into...

waste disposer for sale anyone? UK guys!

MRX, after doing some research into waste disposals and views from councils, it seems here in the UK they are activly being encouraged now as a way to tackle landfill waste, create energy and fertilizers. I cannot see why they would be doing this if waste disposals created such problems at...

waste disposer for sale anyone? UK guys!

I'm on septic tank as live in the middle of nowhere - and you should see some of the stuff I put down! LOL I have taken the cover off before to find mice floating and earplugs! LOL Water flow is fine but with a disposal you just need to have it emptied more often. Oh and I use a Green Cone for...

How are you coping with the new dishwasher detergents?

PassatDoc we have excatily the same tax here. At Costco all prices are Ex Vat and they add it at the till, again like you with food that is a "basic" its tax free. Same in supermarkets here, you pay tax on luxury items such as ready made food, but the raw ingredients are not taxed.

American Drains Wow I never knew this! So kitchen sink drains in the US are plumbed direct into the sewer line? Thats amazing, I just always thought drains would be like Britsh ones. I guess ours are like that to stop sewer water backing up into our houses if there is a blockage - does that...

How are you coping with the new dishwasher detergents?

PassatDoc - that amount of powerball here would cost the equiv of about $34! Rip off UK again!!!!!!! I never buy Finish because of the high cost of it, and in all honesty I have found even the cheapest store brand "Basics" cleaners here were well. I also read some bad reviews about Finish...

    Fried Cabbage

AutowasherFreak Its still very popular in the UK, its called Bubble and Squeak! It tends to be mostly cabbage but we also put some of what ever else is left over too, so cabbage, a bit of mashed potato and maybe some brussel sprouts from Sunday dinner too. Its lovely, and gets its name from...

    New Appliances at Work

Pedro - If you want to get her to use a proper wash and spin, you could tell her that the fast 30 min wash is not sufficient enough to ensure the clothes / bedding is properly sanitized with you washing for a hostel. Maybe that would make her listen to you?

Cascade phosphate free is getting TERRIBLE reviews by customers!

Water Softners I am surprised to read a couple of people comment that US machines do not have built in water softners? All dishwashers in the UK have softners built in, and I thought this was the same with all dishwashers all over the globe, and a standard part of all machines. How come US...

How are you coping with the new dishwasher detergents?

My Powder This is my powder of choice, its cheap and cleans amazingly, plus its got a good pouring action on the spout. I was wondering after reading this thread if England has phosphates, but looking at those ingredients its got 30% phosphates! I shocked as our government normally bans all...

How are you coping with the new dishwasher detergents?

Its good to see that Finish prices are actually the same across the pond, I just worked it out and we pay 50 cents per wash here too - normallyt us Brits pay more! I have not tried it but got VERY excited when I saw it. I only have a counter top Bosch so do not think I have the room for the...

Heated rinse? Heated wash? Both? Neither?

Our Bosch only has a heated rinse, you cannot make it cold - it is that which dries the plates after. I actually have never had a dish washer in the UK that uses forced air drying ( so always has a hot rinse), do we have them over here?

    Portable Laundry Dryer

The best clothes dryer This is when me and hubby want to go back too when we move, to us the worlds best dryer, since its always lit and being stoked with wood or coal, there is always something drying on top of it, also if you fold your clothes, the rayburn irons them for you, it you leave...

    Steam cleaner information, please!

You will never look back countryguy! Just do not hold it in one place too long, but the ice comes away in seconds! Also nicer that you do not have to wipe with any chemical cleaners that can leave a smell in the freezer, I found this rather SEXIST web page for you, that suggests its only...
