I recently changed.... ......all the the CFL and incandescent bulbs in my house to LED and I'm very happy with them. I bought mostly FEIT brand at Costco both 60 watt equivalent and 100 watt - both with 5 position color temperature selector. I set them all on the warmest setting with the...

    "Industry on Parade" visits Maytag

I watched it and.... .....sent it to a friend of mine who grew up in Newton and who's dad worked for Maytag. I told him that I thought I saw him on the merry-go round! I love those "Industry on Parade" films!

    Throwing away food

I've been eating "expired"..... .....foods for years and it hasn't harmed me yet. "Best by" dates just mean that the texture or taste MAY not be quite as good as new but it's still edible. We have a food bank at my church and they will not allow "expired" foods to be donated "for the health...

Frigidaire Dishwasher OrbitClean Spray Arm Issue

I remember our 1969..... ......Frigidaire Imperial dishwasher (pushbutton cycle selection and cycle indicator lights) having a metal "orbit arm". It looked like a smaller version of the main wash arm. I guess that is some kind of Frigidaire "feature" they have kept (or resurrected).

Do you use heated dry on your dishwasher?

Yes... .....I always use heated dry on my 1994 Maytag. I also always use temperature boost and sani-rinse. This Maytag does have a blower but the heat comes from the element in the bottom of the tub.

A real estate listing with a sense of humor

They missed painting the wood..... .....ceiling of the porch and under the kitchen wall cabinets. Natural wood colors are SO dated. Black, grey, white - I think that look is here to stay for the foreseeable future. My house has every room a different color - including the carpet. I love it!

    Commercial Slant Front Westinghouse Washer

I remember machines like those..... .....in 1965 in a London, England launderette. They were that same blue color. After washing, clothes were moved to the BOCK centrifugal extractor, then to the dryer. Fun times!

all original 1970s home set to be demolished

I tried watching..... .....this guy's YouTube channel two or three times but his lack of knowledge about "old" things and limited vocabulary turned me off. I saw this video come up on my "you may want to watch" list but skipped it for that reason. It would be nice just to get a walk through of...

    Anyone longing for the 1970's?

I really love the style.... .....of this 1970's house! The house I currently own had foil wallpaper in the entry foyer (blue and silver). The house my parents had built in 1969 had "wood" (styrofoam) beams on the family room ceiling. Also the dark woodwork (doors, trim, etc.). I'm sure someone...

Garage door Lady K Dryer at last!

Lint Storage I had to laugh at "Lint Storage" on the lint screen lid. For many people, it IS lint storage because they never clean the lint screen! Nice dryer!
