If I'm not hoovering around the washer, I'm listening to it majestically sing. Always have been blessed with the washer and dryer being inside the home, close to the living area within earshot. Still love the bell chime of the dryer, too.
Speed Queens are hard on belts, especially the older models before re-engineering the design (total belt demolishers) but Maytags strangely last a very long time when properly setup and adjusted correctly with the motor carriage working smoothy. You'd think a slipping belt on a spin drainer as a...
Did you purchase genuine Whirlpool/Maytag belts or aftermarket? I wouldn't be surprised if an aftermarket transmission belt tripped the protection circuit on the motor during the spin cycle.
There's no spray rinse, hence all of the damn suds in the rinse cycle of the GE. My HA806 has no suds in the deep rinse and that's being on a water softener and heavy handed with TOL detergent. They are good rinsers to begin with and I took it further by installing a 90 second timer motor giving...
Very long fill times in most new top load washers is a major compliant from users today. It's easy to get excited about a top loader the fills quickly with a true 50/50 mix.

Not ONE SINGLE of my 1967-1993 Maytag washers has a leaning problem. The pre 66's may shift around slightly during agitation but it all centered with no leaning to any one side. Where the hell do you get this nonsense from???
What a POS! Suds locking AFTER a neutral drain with no excessive detergent or a spray rinse. Poor rinsing and can't balance a load that's not out of the realm of normalcy. Agitation is much nosier than a DD. Did any GE top loader spray rinse after the FF's? I know Hydrowaves didn't. This model...
Mineral buildup will cause sluggish flushing overtime, even with superior flushing vintage toilets. The trick it to pull the toilet and put it in a large plastic container. Pour straight muriatic acid in tank to bowl opening so it gets in the rim jets and keep pouring until the bowl is full and...
No snubber ring, just the aluminum damper riding on top of the damper pads with silicone grease.
It appears the parts breakdown on these older machines are beginning to disappear. Here's an a112 which utilizes the same exact design...
