Err don’t hate me but..
Mine was so past it’s best it’s now a flower pot. Outside my washer shed I’ve used a few old things destined for the tip as flower pots. They need a clean and are certainly a talking point !

I’ve donated it !!
This was languishing in my garage which has to be emptied so it’s gone to another collector who has a second kitchen which is full of period machines. It will live there.
It’s quite an unusual design. There is a copper kettle in the base ( swan maid was made by a tea...
Thanks John
We luckily found a spare part. I was sure this machine resembled early kitchen aids it has the large cast iron wash arm and basket layout.
I have a later version that has a different door design and a programmer but the same wash arm inside.
Thanks Richard
Many thanks !
Most luckily I remembered getting a box of swan maid parts so whilst at a Als I thought I’d look. Firstly amazed I found the box and even more amazed in the box was not one but two brand new ones !!
It won’t get fitted today as it’s at another house.
But many thanks for your...
Hello my friends
In the uk in the 1960s we used the kitchen aid dishwasher clone as a swan maid. I’m trying to repair one and the t shaped rubber hose from pump outlet to wash arm support has perished.
Were there on the USA models and do you know if there’s any spares we could get sent over...
Wow
Yes that house has taste of the era it was built but I’m surprised at the price. I live in the north east of England where house prices are considered cheap. But this is an example of what you’d get up here for that price

Great work!
Hi I fixed one for a friend and had to do this. The original pump simply leaked the rubber washer and string has perished. But this adaptation works well!
Photos.
Hi when changing a timer take lots of photos from all angles. And draw a simple diagram of needed. Some times the cables are on blocks which is easier as they often only fit one way. Some are lord of wires. Some don’t need to come off until after the timer is or I’ve bridging wires so...
Temperature
Hello it has 3 programs. Set to programme 1 it fills from cold heats to 65c 150F it’s then starts up with some ferocity. It will wash for 8 mins I think 2 is the same but 6 mins and 3 for glassware is 4 mins there’s then 2 rinses. But if you use programs 1 then 2&3 are just rinses...
I’m back to Als for the Bank Holiday weekend and while there are lots of the things going on I’ve been playing with the Kenwood dishwasher. This was a design award winner at the time and marketed as the best dishwasher as it was designed to fit all the housewife’s daily dishes. It could hang on...
Priceless
I’ve seen Darren’s restorations and they are amazing ! That machine would be worth £ 3367 in todays money to buy. Which at todays exchange rate I’d just under $4000 US dollars!

The early version
I have a very early version that came from the house of the Mitford sisters. Sadly it’s in complete. I also have the version that is in the advert. It’s complete but not working as yet. I should say this later version is very similar in the internal tub and mechanical...
