    New refrigerator. Quietest?

The GE fridges having issues with the compressors are the dual evaporator french door bottom mounts, GFE28 and all of its derivatives. The single evaporator french doors, top mounts, and SxS don't really seem to be having issues, along with the 4 door french doors like the PVD28 and similar...

    MVWP575GW Issue

Whirlpool seems to have more problems with pulleys and even rotors coming loose than anyone else, and most of the time the screws and nuts have loctite on them from the factory.

Maytag mvwp586gw / Maytag mvwp585gw Video Available on YT

Any of the belt drive GTW series machines, both with steel and plastic gearcases. As far as i can tell there must be a vent somewhere that lets a little oil seep out. I've seen GE troubleshooting tips that say on those models if you get out of balance issues and it is due to belt slippage...

Maytag mvwp586gw / Maytag mvwp585gw Video Available on YT

From the parts breakdown looks like they're still using that stupid plastic hub, yet I've come across some newer vmw machines that have metal hubs in the basket held down with a spanner nut. I have seen several of those plastic hubs strip out, i believe the quick ramp up in spin may be partially...

Westinghouse slant front heating element broke.

The new GE elements use a flat ribbon on a mica insulator, basically like a super sized toaster element, mounted in the round pan.

Failure - GE OTR MW JVM6175YK2FS

I have a 1983 GE that is still going strong. Run into several new GE OTR units that blow the magnetron after less than a year, biggest reason why is because they aren't being installed correctly. Some of the newer GE use the vent blower as the cooling fan for the mag and if there was no vent...

    stuck agitator puller- made cheap!

Not sure if it would work on those machines, but on the newer Speed Queens and some older GE machines i use a pair of air shims that i can slide under the agitator and pump them up to pop the agitator off. For a really stuck one maybe 4 of them around the base.

New Bosch dishwasher installed w/o insulation blanket

Sounds like they must be used to most of the American dishwashers where the insulation blanket is a fairly useless flimsy thing. Those Bosch blankets are very thick, and best of all, the blanket and machine are made that everything fits together and the blanket actually stays in place to do its job.

Got my new Maytag MVWP575GW a week ago. Doesn't want to fill up to the top

I have run into a few tub covers on brand new machines that look like that, especially recent ones. I don't think Whirlpool is doing too good of a job finishing the edges, leaving them rough where they get pressed or however they form those.

Got my new Maytag MVWP575GW a week ago. Doesn't want to fill up to the top

That's right where it should be on the deep water fill, right above the last set of holes in the tub before you get to that double row at the very top. I have seen some of those washers that wouldn't fill all the way up until you put them into service mode and ran them through a calibration...

What brand new Top Loader Washer do you recommend?

That GE is basically the same as the other GTW series washers that have been out for the last like 6 years. The only differences i saw between that one and the lower end models like the GTW465 is a different lid lock and the gearcase is metal not plastic. I believe it has a higher hp motor too...
