You know, I was thinking that most Front loaders have a built in heater. One thing that puzzles me is if it is for the wash cycle why not use it for the rinse cycle when selecting warm rinse. Program it to fill with cold water and than pause to heat the water to the precise warm water...

Wow!!! When I saw those pictures, my mom had that exact washer inside & out when I was a kid. The only it did not have is the soak selector. Boy it brought me back on the memories when my mom had that type of washer. Thanks TrainGuy for those pictures.

Jaxsunst, I think bundtboy could be right about the tub. When you put the link up, the part when the washer started to spin it sounds like it is grinding & started to shake before the OB. I play the video again and it looks like the top of the internal tub is bent and/or the tub itself is not...

I have forgot to add something before submitting it. The below center of the arm of the last picture. It has a glass trap. It is design for broken glass, straws, bones and pits. To romove items of the glass trap,there is a handle to lift it out and empty the items and put it back in.

This has a filter, so no food particles can be on the dishes, glasses or cups.

That I don't know. However, Here is another picture of the detergent & rinse aid dispenser. Nice thing about the rinse aid. You can adjust the rinse aid. If you use the point on left side it does dispense a little and adjusted to go to the right side it dispense a lot. It holds from 35 to 140...

Explorder3211, in my opinion. On your grandmother's dryer, I would open it up to see if there is any damage to it. If it is no damage or if it is a minor damage I would repair it, and still use the dryer.
