Cigarette Stale OLD smell on comforter not coming out in wash

If all the above wet options don't help you can try some dry options I've learned about for rescuing vintage paper and fabric items I collect. These methods take time though, a lot of time, but have always worked. You'll need a garbage bag large enough that the blanket can fit in it with plenty...

    Is Your Washing Machine Running?

Borrowed that oldie but goodie for the subject and tagline. Before my time a little bit, but I heard it on reruns and old movies growing up to the point it is very much a part of me being a kid too. Another good one, though not appliance related: Do you have Prince Albert in a can? .... Then...

Help finding old Maytag A806 restoration threads

Sprog, If you have the (old) complete URL(s) saved as a link, and if you haven't tried it yet, go ahead and paste it in your browser URL bar. So far, all of my previously saved links over the years have still worked fine with the new site, they just automatically update to the new location...

-WANT TO BUY- Frigidaire fold-back range unit (stove top)

ktrain, Did you ever find one of these? Your post reminded me of how much I would like one as well and have been looking around lately, I found this on FB Marketplace. Too far away for me, and I'd imagine you as well but here it is anyway...

washers and dryers in tv shows (all type frontloads topload)

I think OP meant to say 1980's, as in the decade in general and meant The Hogan Family because when the show premiered it was titled "Valerie" then changed the title later when she was let go from the series here's a progression of the season openers, but I'm not seeing the appliances in it.

Searching for "ephemera" - not all brands available

I think others might be able to answer better, but I know in my own case... you just have to look elsewhere when a manual isn't in the AW library. The ephemera section is bursting with a lot of helpful texts, but I believe most of what exists in it came from private collections that...

1959 Frigidaire Will Not Stop Running

I know this is a serious question, and this post wasn't made to be disrespectful in any way. But, when I saw your subject line it reminded me of that old prank telephone call standard "Is you're refrigerator running?" And with that in my head as a lead in, I kind of wanted to just post a...

    Maytag tub light window A806

tub window thread... back from the dead A few years old now, I think with Covid Lockdown happening just weeks after this discussion was going on, I know I got distracted on the project. I recently found a 211723 window on eBay after years and years of having it in my saved searches...

    Maytag parts on eBay

After maybe 6 years of having it in my eBay saved searches I finally got a notification and was able to purchase a replacement tub window for my 806 today. The seller has a nice selection of New Old Stock Maytag and Whirlpool parts for sale, not sure if anything else is a rare find like the...

    Popular sandwiches from the 1950s

I had no idea ... It was called a Braunschweiburger, but I guess I've been eating those since the 80's or so. I've never cooked the meats together, just slices of the Braunschweiger as is and topped with (cooked separately) bacon. Add onions, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and substitute mayo for...

A fleet of harvest gold appliances in Phoenix

The appliances are awesome Gotta love Harvest Gold anything, and I really dig the floor, that's the famous Armstrong linoleum pattern 5352. Earlier versions up until 1980 contained asbestos unfortunately, but I'd love to have that floor in my kitchen, very cool pattern.
