My wife had the pleasure of torquing the screw component off of the cap end. Is there an issue in running without cap? I have done initial search on net for part, but it appears to be futile. Any secrets to finding old parts like this? Thanks!!

Repair Complete Thanks for input bigalsf. Received new switch and installed last night. Works great. Next project will be fixing rust spots on the door.

Additional Guidance Removed Switch assembly, there didn't appear to be anything wrong with the switch reset lever. Is there any way to determine if the switch assembly is the problem? Nothing obvious from what I can tell.

Push Buttons became difficult to push in. Now it won't start when cycle is selected. I know it has power, because rinse hold light goes on when rinse hold cycle is selected, but door is not closed. Any ideas??
