    Basic Pair

These were advertised heavily for price ,but Sears employees were told to upsell customers to more expensive Kenmore models. $350 is more than they cost new as the pair sold for $319.95.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

I live alone and fill my dishwasher thru the week and its always packed full by Sunday night and I will run my 30 year Whirlpool. The dishes are clean and dry the next morning, and yes, I rinse off most everything before loading

    I turned on my Furnace

Right now its 58 outside and rain seems to have stopped. I will not turn my boiler for heat until after I get my oil delivery next month and then the thermostat is on 63. If layering clothing isnt working, I will use my propane Hearthstone that heats my main living space fine.

Window fans, do you use them in the cooler months?

My old Durasraft double window fan is on right now. I try to keep my bedroom as cool as possible without running my a/c.

    American tube radios...

I still have a blue Crosley Dashboard radio that was left here when this place became mine. As far as I know, it still works.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

With a million times a day the Dawn ad with the ducks is getting old. People with those nice kitchens dont wash dishes by hand. I only run my 30 year old Whirlpool usually Sunday nights when its full.

    Bose buys McIntosh (audio equipment)

I bought a pair of Bose Interaudio SA 1000 back in the mid 80's that really crank and you hear every instrument. I also have a pair of KLH model 6 speakers that also sound great. Ironically both owners manuals have the same address...The Mountain, Framingham, Mass. .

Are modern refrigerators really worth the upgrade?

I dont want any of that crap on any appliance I have. NO wi-fi or apps. I got a plain 18 cu ft top freezer Frigidaire a few years ago for $499 and its made in the USA not China , that suits me just fine

    To The Crusher

I had this same Kenmore 80 dryer and it always worked great. Gave it to my ex-BIL when I got my Maytags 41 years ago.

    Burgers and Fries

I have one of those Fry-Daddies that does make great fried food, problem is oil goes rancid between uses.

    Electric mowers

My neighbor behind me just bought one of those EGO mowers and really likes it. As their yard is pretty much flat, its light weight moves around easily. My property is a big hill towards the water, so I have a Toro self-propelled gas mower that works for me but I have a Craftsman plug in string...

    Test driving a '65 Mustang in 1985

I had a '66 Mustang convertible with the same 289 V8, 4 speed. By the time I got the car, it had 120K on it and had been rode hard and put away wet. It could not pass the Maine Inspection due to the amount of rust. Sold it for $75 and next owner put alot of work and money trying to restore it.

AOL ending dial-up internet September 30.

Unfortunately, there are many rural areas that are not served by DSL, etc. and their only choice is to use dial-up.

When did Maytag start to go bad?

Older is better as one of the best investments I made was 41 years ago I bought my REAL Maytag washer and dryer. Washer has had one $28 part and they still run just like new out of the box.

AOL ending dial-up internet September 30.

AOL dial-up was my only way for me to reach the internet for years util the phone company started broadband. I did keep my old AOL e-mail though.
