We had an ancient Bendix gas dryer that Broiled the clothes when I was a kid. My mother wanted the timer set for 1 hour and clothes came out way too hot. My Maytag set at Less Dry will usually dry a load fully in 30-45 minutes and the clothes are cooled down.
