Actually I do have a Kelvinator with a brine tank! It's a 1929 model if I am correct.Notice the Kelvinator ad says that they're all made with a brine tank to keep food cold 24 hours if the current is shut off. Wonder if @turbokinetic has ever had one in for repair?

Sorry to hear about your issues with the Farberware Percs.I collected electric percolators for many years. Over the years from 1983 thru 2025 I owned at least 20 or more Farberware Superfast Perc’s.
The older Farberware Electric Perc’s that were still made in New York were very good, but their weak point was always the thermostats which tended to fail after a few years.
But since the early 1990’s they’ve been manufactured in China and they are JUNK. Many of them don’t work properly right outta the box, failing to get hot enough to properly brew the coffee in the first place, and then failing to keep it warm beyond lukewarm.

If you really think about it, the technology of the time was not as advanced as today.Funny how the fridge ad states that 13 cubic feet is "big", with 9.2 CF fresh food section, 134lbs sounded SOOO much bigger than a bit less than 4 cubic feet. That total is less than a dinky apartment sized box these days. I guess marketing folks haven't really changed all that much, I think they outright lie more nowadays, but if apples and oranges cloud the facts, go with it!
