shame on new
Our Kenmore '90' is 13 years old. Trans replaced within 1st year(warranted) for neutral drain prob,-didn't 'neutral' most times. After that,it's been perfect. I hear this washer was still designed for life of 8+ years. Most new ones are 'about 5'. The '90' still looks GOOD,so...
my first
THIS looks to be the washer my mom had. My first aqaintance with AUTOMATIC WASHER. No WONDER I love washers! The lights, style, sounds,& chromed spinner surgalator cap. Yep,that machine 'perved' me to washer mania from age 1 1/2 on.
Mine TOO
Thank's,gansky!! My '96 KM '90' series (3spd) did this about a year ago & again just recently.I put it on 'drain' a few seconds both times & back to 'wash',it ran normally. I WILL purchase a speed control & maybe avoid a 'no-wash' situation.THANK'S again!
I'm still not converted to FL or Fshr/Pykl TL yet.Like the shorter cycle times/control of the "conventional" TL.But ALL the new Kenmore/Whirlpool/Maytag control the wash/spin speeds through the timer now.NO manual turning the "speeds" knob to a higher wash speed for a few seconds to "turn over"...
Was a portable, now (1969)built-in.Gonna' be replaced this week w/some kind of Frigidaire.I think it's a '68-Has brushed control panel w/push buttons & amber indicater lights for each operation. At my mom's house in St.Louis,my sister now lives there & decided to get the Frgair.Don't know if the...
Not much other info.My brother says their later model DD (with spiral tub holes)isn't spinning properly.I'll try to get more info.Says it DOES nuetral drain completely.???
I Knew Someone Knew !
Thanks lulundave. I just thought this machine, tub size & agitator looked right to me.About $750.00 (list) I think for the glass lid model, which I'd HAVE to have.I don't think I'd get the matching dryer right away. The '97 matching dryer has worked perfectly & I don't think...
seein' 'pooh' too
I noticed the selector switiches just 'click' on the new washers. My '97s have a smooth detent feel not felt in the new stuff. To take away something SO customer interactive makes me BELIEVE the 'F' thy customer statements.Crap! I wanted to think the new machines are 'worthy'...
Does anyone have experience with new Whirpool made top loaders that have the stainless tub ,but still have a regular agitator? I don't think I'm ready for a FL and my '97 Kenmore DD 90 series works fine,so when she DOES go (or I just gotta get the faster spin speed of the new model), do ya's...
PURTY !!!
Very 'Searsy' in the first pic! This style of washer demo-ing at the store would mezmerize me."I wanna watch some more"..."Come ON,Billy!" Anyway,COOL machine!
Sensor
Powerfin64,if you look closely at the open door dryer pic, you'll see the sensor panel on rear bulkhead under exhaust screen.Has to be newer design than 3 black sensors.??

LK dryer newer than '67
We had '67 LK dryer just like the white pictured.Except it had the 3 black sensors. The one pictured has the 1 rear wall mounted, makin' me think it's newer than '67.?????
Did you all catch the patent of the day 3/28/07? The Whirlpool short, pivoting agitator design sure resembled the 'new' Calypso, did'nt it? I guess it did'nt work THEN either.
