Up to you. but I like free OTA TV. Won't ever go back to cable. Like you, I'm perfectly happy with ATSC 1.0

I know all that. You realize it's for over the air? And it's coming soon. By 2030, I hope it's delayed. I can't find any PCIE tuner cards for my PC, which is my main viewing device, and DVR all rolled into one...

You can do good quality rips if you know how, and flac files. But I gave up cell phones in 2007 when they became "smart". So I'll stick with a CD player, and if it doesn't come with one, I'll install one. Not that hard, although you may lose steering wheel controls. Factory systems lack...

I was talking about what's real, I disagreed with the original post. And you can still get a CD player, My wife's "new" '24 Honda, and my Camry BOTH have them. Some cars no longer offer it, people listen to music off their cell phones with bluetooth. I think many will also work with a USB...

I was just pointing out that you had to pay for it. I dropped cable TV is 2012. Plenty of Over the air content, and free streaming services. Although here I only get abot 35 stations, which is better than the 14 I got in 2012. Wait till they all switch to this: https://www.watchnextgentv.com/...

Which information? SiriusXM? That's been on some cars for 15 or 20 years. I drove a brand new 2025 Envision Avenir (Made in China!) at my uncles this summer. The only features I saw was Onstar, and SiriusXM. You have to scroll through the screens to finf them. I think both are free for a period...

If your car had those features, don't you think they would have tried to get you to sign up? I think your good to go. What do you drive?

I have SiriusXM radio options on my home theatre pre-amp. I f I want to use it, I have to subscribe, not unusual at all. The car manufacturers don't own that service, not sure why you think they should pay for it? All TV's have cable TV inputs, if you want to use it, you have to pay for it...

    I turned on my Furnace

And back on topic, I heat my house with gas. But today the air has run twice, it may run one more time today, keeping the house at 69 (or less), as usual. Won't need heat until October. https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/f2f2127db9b3933f37d158ab33b133812daf06c3767e60a63fdc69f60e17a6d4

    I turned on my Furnace

Yes it does, just as it factored in the long term cost of nuclear. Except for the hazardous nuclear waste disposal, which in the US is barely recycled at all. That's a huge cost, for 100's of thousands of years. And NOT clean. No wind for a week, in the ocean where most fields are? And you...

    I turned on my Furnace

Actually, what I showed is the current cost. The bottom stat did show nuclear getting cheaper over the life of the plant. But it was still more than solar and wind, and barely less that gas. And for batteries, do you envision a day (let alone a week) where there is no light, and no wind in the...

    I turned on my Furnace

Why is it you are always so fixated on a single solution (that isn't happening)? You do this with any topic. You don't get the point. We need to use all sources available. Solar, Natural gas, Hydro, Nuclear, and wind. Use them all. Although I don't like coal, for obvious reasons, and those...

    I turned on my Furnace

Maybe, but we will be long gone by then, at least I will. And you keep missing the point that there are other sources than fossil fuels. We need them all. That's all I've been saying. And there are plenty of rivers in the US. I live within 40 miles of three hydro electric damns in Michigan...

    I turned on my Furnace

That's what I've been saying. It's great source of energy, but reality is, it ain't happening. And thanks for telling me what a co-op is? I know they don't produce their own energy. It's a co-op.

    I turned on my Furnace

Nonsense. The uptime is because they are a non-profit coop that actually reinvests in maintaining their grid. They don't run out of power. It's 83% renewable, carbon free. If they had to keep switching back to fossil fuels the number would be lower. Like I said, I'm not against nuclear, it's...

    I turned on my Furnace

Where do you get your (lack of) knowledge? Solar and wind are well known to be the cheapest. Nuclear the MOST expensive. https://decarbonization.visualcapitalist.com/the-cheapest-sources-of-electricity-in-the-us/ And reliability? With 83% renewable/carbon free power generation, my electric...

    I turned on my Furnace

Where do you get this from? That was just an example, in total it's over 15% of US energy production. Even better in my area. https://cherrylandelectric.coop/energy/#:~:text=They then transmit that power across a,of which 19% is from renewable resources. If we need so much energy (we do) then...

<snip: removed political reference> They don't harm aquatic life. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-66928305 All alternative energy, even if it's just solar on one house, reduces the load on the grid. But let's avoid progress at any cost.

    I turned on my Furnace

Then what were you talking about? Solar and wind energy works, I see it everyday (and night).
