Coal For Cooking/Heating. Any Of You Lot Actually Experience?

Growing up, we heated/experimented with almost every form of product.  We had a wood stove.  It's a lot of work to cut down trees or cut up fallen timber.  Stoking the fire was also a PITA.  We switched to coal.  Coal is dirty but heats well.  Again though, keeping the coal fire burning and...

    Talk about junk!

Vacerator, you are wrong once again.  Current VMW washers ARE still belt drive.  I have the MVWC565 on my floor right now & it's BELT drive.  The current MVWC465 is belt drive.  The Amana NTW4516 is belt drive. The MVWP575 is BELT drive.   Now on the other hand, the mvwB765/766, mvwB835 etc are...

    Who built this Admiral dryer?

It's a Norgetag, not Amana.  Amana was in Searcy, Arkansas.   This is exactly like the first Performa models from Maytag (PYE1000).  Age-wise, it's probably from the late 1990's (98-99) or very early 2000's.    The big thing is these fill up with lint where the lint filter goes.  That tube...

    Is it just me?

Bob, that was something that I felt I could not reveal on a public site without an announcement from Whirlpool.  Now, if you were in my store at the time, absolutely I'd let you know about the price increase coming.   The funny thing is they raised the price and then offered a discount for the...

    Maytag Neptune top load

I had about 12-15 in storage for a while, but when we moved one of our warehouses, I junked them all.   I just had no room to keep them.  Besides the clutch issues, these things had major bearing issues.  We sold quite a few of these machines and my customers were pretty happy with them.

    Is it just me?

Hold on there boys.  It had NOTHING to do with the tariffs.  I had notice from Whirlpool months ago that laundry prices were going up in April.  This was released to dealers well before the tariffs were announced.  Refrigs went up last year.

    CNET 2018 speed queen review

We've sold quite a number of the MVWB766 model and have not received 1 complaint.  NOT 1.  I have heard from some very satisfied customers though.

    Burned Frigidaire

This is on every single frigidaire dryer like this I've ever seen. It's normal. Don't worry about it. It's not a problem.

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

From what I can gather, the deep water cycles are not true deep fill. It looks like the washer will fill to about 3/4 full. The use and care guide says it is a "reduced water washer." The other cycles will sense and adapt the fill level accordingly.

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

oops sorry, Cuffs. I've been super busy lately and haven't been following the site. I missed your question. In service school it was more on repair and not really on operation. I'll check into it

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

We just had service training on these new WP stackers. The dumbest thing on the 27" stacker is that you need to remove the dryer to even change a lid switch on the washer. That makes no sense to me, but I am not an engineer. So a lid sw job will now be a 2 person job!

Maytag Atlantis Dryer MDE6400AYW - Loose baffle

I really doubt the baffle needs replaced, like John said above. I see it all the time. The missing screw is on the bottom of the dryer.

    Xfinity Cell service?

We switched last month. I have been with Verizon for many years. All we've ever had were flip phones which is fine with us. None of us really wanted a smart phone, but that is what you get with Xfinity. So, we bought the cheapest LG phones they had. You cannot bring your own phone at this...

    "What Cook Are You?"

I am a simple cook. "A Simple Cook: You keep things simple. If it takes more than five ingredients, you are not going to fix it. You don't believe in cooking all day or trying complicated recipes. In fact, you don't even worry about using a recipe most of the time. You just keep it simple."...

    Maytag Neptune Dryer Help

I thought I knew the answer but didn't want to post until I was sure. I had to run an Atlantis version of this dryer through the shop this morning. (yes, I'm working on a Sunday when we're closed. Only 10 more hours to go!! Ah the life of a small bidness man) Anyway, the tub WILL move up and...

It's my wife and I's turn to host Thanksgiving and Christmas...

We've been buying a turkey from a local farm the last few years. The taste is so much better. As far as cooking it, I usually brine it and then throw it on the smoker for hours. We used to use the Westinghouse roaster for decades. That smell there always reminds me of Thanksgiving growing up...

    Maytag Atlantis Washer & Dryer

Ok, here are the real facts. TwinTub, I hate to say it, but your washer IS a Norge-tag washer. Period. BUT.....It WAS BUILT IN NEWTON. From what I remember, Atlantis washers were assembled in Newton and the Performas came from Herrin. Atlantis had porcelain tops, Performa painted. Atlantis...

Wood Pellet Grills ( Traeger ) Anyone with Experience?

Eddie, I'm familiar with the starters. For the Traeger, you just put some pellets in the hopper, take a paper towel with some veggie oil soaked in & then throw some more pellets on top & light. That works well for that application. When I charcoal, I almost always use a chimney as well...
