    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Did this happen to you? Did the motor survive. That is interesting to know that the time current curve of a 15 amp breaker can protect a universal motor. Way cool if so! I love such designs. I remember the Kenmore power foot in the previous canister vacuum had a pop-out bi-metal breaker that...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Oh, yes indeed. 1) Advertising bait. Screens, jingles, features, ect make the customer feel like they are buying something better than their old machine. 2) Profound cheapening. Manufacturers can do away with advanced suspensions, material, quality parts, self regulating designs, deep sumps...

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Elegant beyond words, but with an achlies heal. I like LOL. Now, what you've gotten me wondering. Universal motors draw vary, very high currents when stalled and do not have the same level of thermal mass like an induction motor. Now, if hypothetically speaking, the motor stalled out from...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

The difference is semiconductors and wifi have a practical application in personal computers, servers, and in the most of data delivery. They do not however have any practical application in appliances.

    Resurrection of the Whirlpools

To be honest, neither have I. I am guessing it was so the re-circulation and mini basket could work on all Speeds. Robert might know given his knowledge of the Filter Flo's history and the fact he has two of the first GE automatics ever built. Personally, and this is just me only talking from...

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Can I ask, what does the motor look like on the Sanitare? Does it burn up if something stalls the fan? I've never used a vacuum where the motor was before the bag. So far the replies and convo is GOLD 🥇 :)

A Dutch newspaper ad with a 1957 Frigidaire Unimatic in it

Why would you need 120 when 240 can and will work for everything as already proven everyday across 90% of the world? Being able to drive more current through any given resistance means short circuit and ground fault current has a greater probability of being above a circuit protective device's...

Whoa! I did not know that. Do you have a particular model of Sanitaire in mind?

A Dutch newspaper ad with a 1957 Frigidaire Unimatic in it

I bet that 50Hz Unimatic would dry even faster if run on a 240 volt 60Hz supply. ;) I wish the US would had gone to 220 volts at some point. If not 60Hz, 50Hz would have worked too but as long as it was somewhere between 220-240 volts. Preferably derived via two hot conductors but thats just...

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Thank you for sharing this! Another thing about Oreck is they are loud! First time I heard one I was shocked! Awful, loud and first thought that went through my mind is that it could wake the zombies LOL.

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Sounds like the vacuum itself would be genuine. At least that is what I am hoping. But be honest, I am open to candid Appliance discussions. What do you really think about that Kenmore upright vacuum? And how does it compare to the ones made by Panasonic 12 years ago?

My next dishwasher might be an LG then.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Good catch, you are correct. IIRC an autoclave. Which would be kind of cool as a dishwasher once all the right modifications were made LOL. :p

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Can I ask, what is the risk from order from Amazon? Is it the same vacuum internally as the dealer or is is different? Refurbished? Something else? Amazon is very flexible for me, and my go to in buying.

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

I want to ask, do you have a link to the bags? I am debating on getting the SEBO X4 from Amazon.

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Honestly, I have little to no dust in my Kenmore Intuition. If the bag is genuine and well seated it does not leak.

    Who Makes These Vacuums?

Question- why would you recommend the Felix over the X4? How much does each weigh?

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Toward the end of production power cleans were cheap, around $300. In today's money thats $450. Cheaper than many MOL models produced today which do not clean nearly as well. With mass buying, the price would drop.
