Please help me achieve whiter whites

The problem won't go away in one wash. It's going to take many, many washings to get back to the way it should be. It's like going to the therapist. It takes many visits there, and it will take many washings to get the laundry back to normal.

Cold Water Washing: The Debate Goes On

Most of the year in Florida you could take a cold shower and part of the year in Ga. Especially if you were on a well and the tank was in the sun all day.

    How much STPP and Tide

Thanks Rich!! I was looking for your old post but couldn't find it.

    How much STPP and Tide

I would like to hear from the experts out there about how much STPP to mix into a 134oz box of Tide. The 'slippery' test is a bunch of nonsense when you have a F/L.

    Whirlpool Imperial Mark 18

It most likely needs a belt and pump. I would suggest that either an appliance repair company or someone who has done a belt change on a Wpl/Ken perform the operation. If you go with an appliance repair company try to go after someone who has been in business for a while. Younger techs will...

    Gansky & Tlatz

This condition has nothing to do with loading or the unauthorized modification to the water level switch from customer #59. It is entirely the cause of too much detergent in very soft water. Maybe a viagra will make the water hard?

    2010 Admiral-pool washer and dryer

Manuals/Tech Sheets The owners manuals and tech sheets for the new machines are awful. Like you said everything is a general description. Maybe that is why they are paying us for Customer Instruct call now.

    GE Dryer Drum Bearing Sleeve

Did you use the WE12M29 or the WE12X82 belt? It calls for the 29 but if you pull the arm over hard enough you can get the 82 on there. The idler pulley may hang up on the motor bracket though. It can be done from the front. You should see my arms after 3 or 4 GE's in one day.

    Green Products

Oxyclean There is only a very narrow temp window in which Oxy bleaches reach true effectiveness. I don't remember the temps off my the top of my head but I know it's above something like 143 and below 170. Not very many americans have water that hot. And oddly enough the manufacturer doesn't...

    Whirlpool's mistake

The bang is normal. The motor coupling does not engage anything. It is not designed to slip or engage or disengage. It merely couples the motor to the transmission. There are 3 fingers on each half of the coupling which mate to the rubber in the middle. There is not supposed to be any play...

    Green Products

I LOVE the brown Lysol!!! You can also use a soft cloth with ammonia and chalk to polish copper and brass. As lots of people said....Green don't clean. I see it every day and charge people to tell them that. They go buy these fancy low water use/ low energy machines and feel the need to use...

    Whirlpool's mistake

Bob: What coupler is there that has to reconnect with anything? Bruce: If you want to keep your Kenmore put a transmission in it. The newer machines are supposed to have a lighter weight oil in them which in turn makes everything slide in and out of position easier and with less load on the...

    GE Dryer Drum Bearing Sleeve

No, you don't need the ring. Just make sure the front felt is in good shape. Make sure seal on the lint duct is in the right place if it's there. If not, put one there. Also make sure the seal where the lint duct mates to the front panel is there.

    GE Dryer Drum Bearing Sleeve

Yes, the clip comes off, then you slide the bearing on the shaft. When you use this new bearing you won't need to use the washers and clips upon reassembly. Check the bearing socket in the back of the dryer to make sure it's not worn or egg shaped. If it is you either need to replace it or...

    Calypso vs. Cabrio

The calypso is much better at cleaning and rinsing. However it is also the harshest of the two on clothing. The award for ease of service and reliability would go to the Oasis/Cabrio/Bravos.

Please help me achieve whiter whites

The general rule of thumb is that it will take as many washes with proper detergent and water temp to get the gray stains/oils/residue out of the clothing, etc as it did to get them there in the first place. Use hot water, good detergent(I've always used Tide)and add some phosphate to the...
