Front loaders, Pilling, and Fabric Shavers

LG I find it odd that so many people claim that LG washers {FL} have all these issues! I have A pair, with no issues. I generally load by color, and fabric type, with no issues. Unless it is a singularly flawed washer, I would question if it is due to overloading. I am very careful, as most...

HAVE BEST BUY MAKE IT RIGHT1 I own the same model of LG, and have no issues whatsoever! Make them repair it, or give you a new one. These are wonderful units. I'm sorry you have had such a negative experience. When working properly, they can do just about anything you could ask them to. LG's...

So I bought a washer - advice for installing it myself? Pick up tomorrow!

LG If I read right, you bought the LG washer. I also bought a LG fairly recently. Mine has Turbo washer, and steam. You will find that it is better to leave the turbo wash feature on all the time. it ensures better saturation of the clothes. The steam is great for stains, as well as the...

Annual Cottage Stove Exchange: MW Signature (Tappan) to Westinghouse

Hey Kevin In the Video you mentioned that this might be the first Westinghouse stove you've had in the cottage. I thought I remembered a Westinghouse Terrace Top. WAs that at the Cottage, or in your home in Detroit?

    Vintage Stove/Oven (Norge-Borge Warner) - $22 (Portland)

Not latched If you look at the bottom left, the burner was not latched in the little slot cut in the burner bib, which latches in place. At least that is true of GE ranges. I don't think the owner took the time to make sure everything was in place, before snapping the shot. IMHO.

    Clogged Kitchen Sink w/ Disposal

Just for general info Glass beads are what the pros's use to sharpen them. Yes I would use extreme caution, and cover the opening with a cover that allowed water to flow by. Ice is probably safer for newbies. The rest of the regimen that I mentioned, really does work. And easy to do as well.

    Clogged Kitchen Sink w/ Disposal

Said it before, and i'll say it again If you have a decent disposal, put ice cubes, small chicken bones, egg shells, and small pieces of broken glass in, and you will have a disposal that will take anything. When we moved into this house we inherited an ancient Kenmore unit. It was dull and...

GE top loaders, why so much hate?

I had a 2000 It was the top of the line model. I averaged 8--10 loads a week. Mine lasted 12 years. The Mode shifter finally acted up, and I replaced it with Maytags. I had no repairs done in the 12 years I used it, and the dryer never had a single repair. I think folks can be hard on brands...

    Getting Back to “Normal”

Nice Start Looks to me like you are on the right path for a nice collection. I love your MW washer, I'm so jealous. I had a 20lb Norge that I would have put up against any washer. It washed with a vengeance. Dirt could not hide. My mother, who was a Kenmore fan, Used mine, and swore it was the...

1951 Westinghouse delux electric dryer - $125 (Erie pa)

Wow what a combo! A Unimatic, paired with a Westinghouse Dryer, meant the clothes were probably dry in 10 minutes. The speed of the Unimatic spinning, followed by the heat from those dryers, would have been a winning combo, for banging laundry out in rapid fire! Those dryers heated to about...

PROOF That H.E. Washers DON'T Save Water!

I Agree with Bob When you look at true water saving, a front load is your best bet! I think that HE top load machines, are in some way, a way to wean TL users over to the idea of saving water. But clearly they are a far cry away from the perfect idea of water conservation! Just Say'in. Hugs, David

    Hard Towels

Air Tumble When i line dry items, after drying, toss them in the dryer for 15 minutes on air only. towels retain the line smell, but are much softer to the touch. You also don't use the 220/240.
