Avatar - The best you can see at cinema right now

Sigourney Weaver's Necklace I agree with you, Jeff, it is amazing that they couldn't afford a screen play. Screen play sucked big time, acting performances marginal. Visuals good, but it was like a Walt Disney movie except for the need to tease adolescents with the 'I think I saw a nipple'...

    Chilly in Omaha

It is 6 degrees in Omaha.. ...not that cold, but getting colder. Here is a rainbow over our business district this morning. Both sides of the rainbow are out there with the sun in between.

Well, it is that time of year...when we think of those fighting far away. Here's mine from way 'out there.'

    Spam! (the food).

Tim - Polka Nut Try it again, with a couple of changes: Use a cheese grater and simply grate SPAM onto the buns. Chop some onion and sprinkle that. Then grate some cheese of your preference on top. Pop them in the broiler to melt cheese and brown buns. MMMmmmmmmmm.

    Big Sucker -- CentralVac

The hose 1. We have a cleaning service; 2. I don't like 'managing' that long hose and fiddle-farting with what you need for attachments/power heads, etc.

    Vintage computer collecting

Vic-20 In the early 80's I was operating my business with a C-64 for awhile (and I also had a C-64 portable with color screen). But, get this, I was my own Sysop on a bulletin board called the LABB which operated on a Vic-20. In those days, programmers wrote lean.

Drink eight 8-oz glasses of water a day

Clarification #2 Your referenced 3.7 liters assumes that .7 liters will be from sources other than beverages (salads, fruit, etc). There ya go, guys only "drink" 3.0 liters. They eat the rest.

Drink eight 8-oz glasses of water a day

Jeff, a clarification. I was discussing the science of hydration. "Most guys" are adequately hydrated. And don't have to worry about caffinated beverages having a diuretic effect. You last post brings up the issue of water quality and contaminants. Now that might also be a fun thread. I...

Drink eight 8-oz glasses of water a day

Athletes and water A client's "trainer" has told him to drink the volumes of water described at the outset of this thread and he was also told the bunk about caffinated beverages. What happens in our culture is that the result of such advice is dehydration sometimes because our young athletes...

Drink eight 8-oz glasses of water a day

Hydration Science The science is not new, I believe there were studies back in WWII. The first study that the Beverage Institute became interested in was developed by Dr. Grandjean and the subjects were medical students. Each morning they stopped by to pick up all of the fluids they would drink...
