    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Thirty-two

Like Kevin 313 began buying percolators at age 8 at garage sales when Mr. Coffee and Norelco drip makers were the new thing. His father complained that the coffee was not hot or strong enough from one. All 400 line the top shelves on three walls of his museum.

what would be your choice of vintage dishwasher to install in a modern kitchen if you do not went something modern or with manual filter to clean

Seemed growing up if our houses didn't have one or the other a neighbor did. I saw fewer Whirlpool, Maytag and Frigidaire GM dishwashers than Hobart and Kenmore. I would say that GE placed third. Many builders in the 60s were using Tappan too. A few used that weird Preway gas heated thing.

what would be your choice of vintage dishwasher to install in a modern kitchen if you do not went something modern or with manual filter to clean

Didn't the mid to late 90s Whirlpool Gold, Quiet partners and K/A still have big pumps? GE Nautilus and Profile too? Maytag?

Re; Duck duck go. It's probably just a matter of time before the doge psycophant sympathizing hackers track us via that too. The old saying you can run but not hide. Hope same holds true following 2026 and afterwards for them.

I have a 23 inch pc monitor and a 10 inch Lenovo tablet, which is what I'm using until my new knee allows me to use the stairs. Surgery was October 10th. Recovery isn't linear. Each week gets better, not each day. It's nice to walk again without severe pain.

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

My 24 inch was the first vmv portable compact on wheels. Plastic lid, typical regular Whirlpool console. Water levels, temperature selector. A good spinner.

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

The most I could fit in my old 24 inch Whirlpool was 2 jeans, or one plus a couple shirts. Two bath towels at a time. The new manager wanted me to quit using the water so I told him I got it because the laundry which had two washers were rarely available and one smelled like gasoline. I was...

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

Oh sure Malcolm. Electric heat is dryer than gas typically. A dryer uses a blower to circulate heat similar to a convection oven, but not as fast. It used to be said that electric ovens were better for baking and gas for roasting. However there are certain things where a water bath or steam in...

1989 White Westinghouse front load washer

My sister's neighbors have a walnut tree that makes a mess of both front yards and driveway. We love them, but hubby is allergic to the black walnuts.

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

Not being condescending to anyone here, this forum has some fikle members. Has for decades. Many know their trades and their experiences are valuable. Many have met in person over the years at wash ins and ground reunions. Some have no face to their name and no one has ever met them. Others...

Also too, as we have the flat earthers, the never been to the mooners, etc. pick your poison; you can either get a vaccine, and not get sick, or get not as sick, or refuse it, and chance death from the virus. I don't know if there was heard immunity during Bubonic plague. History has many...

Here's one you don't see much of anymore

I'm 65 as well, and my memory is good, if not selective a little. I remember from age 3. I too was a young uneducated car buyer and got taken to the cleaners at 21. I loaded up the gmac loan for my new Cutlass Supreme with the work loss coverage. As I learned about dealer invoice, holdback, and...

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

Oh, I wasn't retired. I stopped working in 2011 to help my ailing and aging folks. I had to be reachable at all times by my sister's and parents. I live 40 minutes away in good weather and traffic. After the next flip phone, which I mistakenly washed in a pair of jeans, hubby got me a smart...

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

As for time bomb chips, I had a nice LG flip phone that just suddenly wouldn't power up after it was about 4 or 5 years old. My sister in law also had one that did it. So who knows for sure? Many newer audio components have updatable firmware versions from time to time. So it may not work or...

In dry cold winter weather not using a dryer sheet results in more static electricity in the clothes.

    Dryer Sheets

Yes, detergent and softener residue buildup can affect dryer efficiency and make lint cling to parts and the plenums. Scented are worse though. American tumble dryers are very large and it takes years for any resude to affect it. Our previous dryer was 15 years old and the auto dry was still...

    Dryer Sheets

We only use scent Free dryer sheets. Never liquid softener. My daughter in law also hates the residue buildup from liquids in the dispenser. I did use liquid in my old Maytag because the dispenser was in the top of the agitator and easily rinsed after use.
