Today October 21st 2025 we remember the 59th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster 1966. A small village 10 mins away from the Hoover Merthyr Tidfyl washing machine factory lost 116 school children and 28 adults when a coal waste tip saturated after months of rain broke free and slid down the mountain landing on the village school engulfing everything in its path.
