    Bose wave radio

Well... I purchased one for my mom in 2001. I don't know how they do it, but it sounds fantastic. It did break about 2 seconds after the warranty was up, and the cost to repair was about 100.00 less than getting a new one. (Hers is the one with a CD player). I wrote to Bose and they ended up...

    Happy 2011 AW.org From Omaha

It was great seeing old friends again! Greg, the dinner choice of going to Malara's on News Years Eve was FANTASTIC. I was happy I managed not to "fall down" this New Years!

    AC Temp setting

I keep mine at 73 24/7. I have tried setting it up a few degrees but it gets too humid. I have NEVER like the heat, and now that I am turning into an old fatboy, I like it less... lol!

    Just ranting

It's the same here in Omaha. I haven't seen a notice yet this year, but last year on my light bill there was some B.S. about having to raise rates because not enough electricity was used, and I remember thinking "WTF,almost every statement encourages being "green", and then when we are, we have...

    Careful what you wish for.

I must be a vindictive person. Of all the jobs I've had in over 25 years, I still remember 3 bosses I HATE. It probably would bring joy if I heard something horrid happened to them. I don't think I'm a mean peson, so your post at least made me ponder on trying to not be so hateful.

I hung laundry outside for the 1st time this year.

I was able to hang out some on Friday, and it was perfect as it was sunny and windy. Hung some out yesterday, but it was damp and cloudy. It was mostly dry tho when I brought it in.

Beautiful 1949/1954 Modern Home for Sale

Thanks to Greg, I went with him to the sale, and he IS correct in the description. It's a fantastic property, but does need work, and the owner would need a big bankroll and assume the title of "curator". But man, if money was not an issue, I'd be in it in a heartbeat. I went home with both...

    They go in three's

Sad to hear when someone passes. Will be interesting to see who truly believes that he faked his death, as there are still diehard Elvis fans who still cling to that hope 32 years after his death. I grew up with his music, but when he got too odd to even deal with, all I can remember is my...

    Who watched "Grey Gardens"?

I watched it and loved it! I saw the original, and could not believe how Jessica and Drew nailed the parts dead on.

Anyone want a Free Maytag A806?

I'll double check the model number, as it's in my garage, but thought it was an 806. No lighted panel tho. It does have a pilot lamp and control lay-out from left to right is: cold warm hot / Regular Gentle / Small Medium Normal Large. I would guess it's from 1973. When my parents bought the...

Anyone want a Free Maytag A806?

Hey, was checking in to see if anyone wants a free Maytag A806. It is far from mint, but thought I'd check before I send it off to the scrap heap. I'm in Omaha. It was my moms, It's Avacado Green, needs cleaned up, and the paint is faded in the front. It is not the model that lights up. I...

    GE enters HDTV market

GE Sold the RCA nameplate years ago to Thompson Electronics, a French company, which in turn sold it to some Chinese company 2 years ago. Anything electronic with the RCA or GE nameplate on it would be pure junk.

Now GE will spin off appliance unit before selling

Hopefully parts for GE's will remain available for awhile. Seeitrun2006, That Zenith you bought in 1987 was one of the last "true" Zenith's made. Zenith actually had parts sourced out to Mexico in the early 80's. By 87 they were almost bankrupt, and LG purchased a portion of the company in the...

    A very sad day :(

Sorry about your Torino, and glad you weren't seriously hurt. I love older cars, and Falcons aren't bad, but I'm surprised I don't see more of them around, as Ford cranked out a ton of them. However, being in the midwest in a state that likes to salt the roads, I'm sure most rusted away. My...

Winter madness: Raising a ruckus in Ruskin!!

Looks like everyone is having FUN! What a great house Terry! Greg, you missed out on one of the coldest days we've had in Omaha, but you might get to return to rain and snow! That Hoover Convertible looks like it was a great hit! Looks like everyone is having some great dinners, as Terry appears...

    Vintage Hotpoint 'fridge in Omaha

I went with Greg to go see this fridge awhile back as it has been on Craigslist for awhile. Altho nice, it was missing a few things. IIRC, the price was higher when we looked and the people acted like they weren't willing to "deal" on price. I loved the green interior in it.

Omaha contingent please check in ...

I'm fine on this end. I can't "deal" with packed stores, especially around Christmastime, so I wasn't near there.
