    Whirlpool's new dishwasher motors

Oh nice, there it is. The new model with yellow accents. Looks nice. Looks like a good unit, coming close to the upper level Maytag or low level KitchenAid model. You can see the big motor in rear view. Surprising Key Features: - 90 minute Normal Wash cycle, a full hour less than the old...

    Whirlpool's new dishwasher motors

So cyincal.... Here's more evidence that I don't think sites like Abt remove negative reviews. It's in their best interest to only sell the best appliances. They sell and fix their own stuff, which means if they sell poor performing appliances, it's more money lost for them in service and...

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

Why don't you buy my broken KUDS25 PowerClean KitchenAid Jerome? You can finally learn about actual appliances, and fix it up and learn how they go together. Then you'll finally, FINALLY have your big beefy motor and lots of splashy water that can scrub the Ford building (Lmao, which they are...

    KUDD23 saves the day

That's a real neat calculator, and it's calculations seem to match the observed behavior of the D23's main wash thermal hold and my tap temp. One of the reasons I got the KUDS25 a few years ago, besides a fun restore and getting a more economical and sensor-run machine again, is the WP heated...

    Worst *New* dishwasher available?

I'll second what you mentioned in the OP. The BOL builder grade GEs and Hotpoints. Primarily for their racks. Their layout looks terrible, and they're vinyl racks that once they knick, they rust really quickly. They're also flimsy AF, but perform well. I used to say Frigidaire but I've been...

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

This is such BS. KitchenAid and other makes were constantly working on saving energy and water way back in the 1970s. Energy and water is expensive in many markets, and if they can get their appliances to use a bit less than the competition, that is a SALES advantage to the company, and a...

    KUDD23 saves the day

Hi @cam2s , with this thread coming back to life, I forgot to reply to you. Sorry for the delay. From what I can observe, the timer will pause advancing while still washing, and heat the water to some target temp. So that’s actually the new WP logic. It’s approx. 8min after the thermostat...

    KUDD23 saves the day

Thanks but No thanks. It works fine as it is. You got rid of all the cycle options?????? No.

    Whirlpool's new dishwasher motors

Correct, the Whirlpool brand models don't use the Power Filter module. They use a passive filter cup and wet rotor motor. Taking two hours doesn't matter when 95% of the population does their dishes at night, and runs the cycle overnight. It especially doesn't matter when dishwashers are so...

    Whirlpool's new dishwasher motors

Let's not solely blame the EPA, a popular boogeyman for so many here. Market forces, yummy free market capitalism also drove manufacturers to put smaller quieter motors in their machines. Don't forget! Many many familes were purchasing large, open concept homes in the late 90s and 2000s, and...

    Whirlpool's new dishwasher motors

At this point my replies are more for those browsing to this site, looking for good data, since Jerome is impervious to evidence. This is the "Dual Power Filtration" motor and pump assembly for Whirlpool products. The motor label reads: .175 Horsepower. 3,380 RPM. Circulation Pump W10902589

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

Once again, all yap and no action. Go search for a vintage KitchenAid or PowerClean machine and install that. You're not going to find a new machine these days that does not alternate it's arms. I fear you're up for a life of stress and dissapointment. Best to seek a professional for guidance.

    Whirlpool dishwasher motors update

No it’s not the pumps they use. Size doesn’t always matter Jerome. If you’re SO concerned about motor size, get a new Maytag or KitchenAid with the Power filtration. Those still have a large, 1/5hp motor.

From reading some archived threads lately, It’s just so surprising how certain members back in the day, used to have such interesting and thoughtful posts and conversations. And post-Covid, well, the evidence speaks for itself….

New Cascade commercial and Cascade Platinum Plus massively oversudsing dishwasher

I’ll swap a back and forth between Cascade Complete powder and Seventh Generation powder. In my water, I’ll actually get slightly better bleaching action and less white powdery residue vs. Cascade Complete. But I still like to buy it once in a while to persuade stores to keep stocking powder...

What does it matter what their marketing term is for a wash system? Completely inconsequential.
