1966 Westinghouse range their first self cleaning oven

love the stirrer... Some science lab hot-plates had magnetic stirrers, the stirrer that you put into the flask or beaker looked like a big plastic medicine capsule and spun around as the matching magnet under the hot-plate surface rotated. This must be a pretty rare range I'd think! Our...

    Vintage Lloyd's console stereo

lower end console... for sure. Free to $50 max, little to no demand for these. MCM design cabinets in better makes and models are more desirable and even those aren't in as much demand as components mainly due to the space consumption issue. The real console experts are here...

    Kitchenaid Superba

best KAs... opinions vary, we had excellent results from a KDC-17 for 15 years and a family of 5. We found that it wasn't all that finicky about loading as long as a modicum of common sense was used, no turkey roasting pans in the lower rack for sure though. Variations on these Hobarts were...

    Stoves for my house

We have a friend who has used nothing but GE Americana ranges for at least 40 years in houses in several states, even taking one with him several times as well as finding "new" ones. He wouldn't dream of using anything else.

Looking for new French door refrigerator

LG Our sister-in-law bought a French door LG 2 years ago and it's born a nightmare, I think she's had it replaced twice and this one might be oak, but 3 months old so time will tell. Ice maker and thermostat issues a well as good door seals. Our 2 10 yr old WPs are still working perfectly.

No it's not a DeSoto... sharp eyes. The '58 and '59 DeSotos are gone, that's a '69 Olds Cutlass, presently at the body shop getting a new paint job as we speak.

Here's a sight for sore eyes...

getting re-porcelain work done... it's quite a saga: We originally sent our original top to a place that others here have used in the past but after several months we had no acknowledgement that it had even been received despite several (un-returned) calls. Finally 3 months after shipping it we...

Mine! After 8 months we finally received the newly re-porcelained cooktop panel from IPE for our <---- '57 GE Liberator 40" double-oven range in cheerful Canary Yellow! We also sent them a drawer front for matching and the end result is perfect. Also last year bought an entire '58 Liberator for...

    19yo Plasma Panel

that '66 Zenith is 55 years old... does anyone think ANY of today's flat screen, plasma, OLED, &c &c sets will still be functioning in 55 years? It's a blast to watch old VHS tapes and other analog signal sources on an old 20Y1C48. Nothing like it, it's sorta like like driving our '69 Olds, a...
