    rare freestanding Chambers ELECTRIC

Yes,that's a storage area to the right of the oven. And if you'd look at the first picture, you'll see their famous slogan(altered for electricity)that says "COOKS WITH THE FUEL TURNED OFF". I'll have more pictures later. I found these pics sometime ago on eBay.

Gas cooking is hazardous to your health

I'm a strong proponent of gas but I hate to say it- I do believe that gas is on its way out in this country as a fuel in the home for cooking. Am I correct?

    Gas Vs. Electric !

I hate electric dryers! In the 1960s we had one(a Firestone) and it took forever to dry clothes. Since then I have used electric dryers on occasion and they are still slow! Not to mention that you can't tell when they are heating up.I agree with jasonl on the sound of the burner igniting...

adjustible temperature on 1 setting dryers

I had the same question and I may have answered it. Just how important are those fabric care label dryer temp recommendations? We have a 1982 Kenmore Heavy Duty Plus 110.87170800 gas dryer(small door). Dryer only has 1 temp and air. It has 2 automatic cycles, Cotton/Sturdy and Permanent Press...

    Firestone Electric Dryer

When I was a kid in the Sixties we had a Firestone electric dryer and a Philco-Bendix washer. The dryer was nothing fancy, just a white box with a red 120 min. timer knob on top. There was no console. It had the unusual feature of having the element wrapped around the entire drum The reason we...
