Please school me, Is it common for agitator machines to have the shaft and seal terminate below the water level? Seems like a the better design is like mu old Whirlpool that has the shaft seal at the top of the tub housing , way above the water level... just asking Joe B

Wife is looking at a MT MVWB865. Any info as to good or bad points? We looked at the highly recommended MT575, I like the machine but the boss says the tub is too small. Joe B
