    Speed Queen purchase

I’m very happy with my TR5. It’s very well built, is much quieter than the TC5 and does a great job cleaning without beating up your clothing. Use the Heavy Duty cycle with auto-fill for best results.

    hey speed queen fans

I agree with the previous comment regarding using the auto-fill option on the TR series washer. I think that setting provides the correct amount of water for the best wash action. I use that and the heavy duty cycle for most every load and get good results each time. I have a TR5 that is...

    2017 Speed Queen Washer Sounds

Water doesn’t seem to be moving around much. Looks like the action of a soup spoon.

    2017 Speed Queen Washer Sounds

That’s quite a racket! Glad I have the SQ TR5003 which is located on a main floor laundry room. My old school Maytag top load made quite a racket as well. I can now do laundry anytime of the day without the disturbing noise ruining the vibe in the home.

    Speed Queen 2024

I much prefer smaller loads with similar laundry items. My machine is so quiet it no longer disrupts the main floor of the house with noise. I now wash anytime necessary. I have no need for anything larger than my TR5.

Will The TR Series Ever Go Away? Please?

The TR series does have a different wash action for each cycle, heavy duty being the most aggressive.

Will The TR Series Ever Go Away? Please?

You can see why the Speed Queen was probably the only top load washing machine that would fit into this room.

Will The TR Series Ever Go Away? Please?

You can certainly blame the US federal government regulators for the current state we’re in with our washing machines. I think it will soon get worse with the newest green energy legislation. Glad I have my TR5 as it washes everything I’ve thrown at it just fine. It also fits in the same...

Tear Down Video Series - GE vs. SQ vs. Maytag

Love the simplicity and quality of the Speed Queen TR series.

Will The TR Series Ever Go Away? Please?

Interesting to see the number of comments suggesting the person use the Auto-Fill function. I have a theory the TR washers performs better when you do so.

Will The TR Series Ever Go Away? Please?

Love my TR-5. It replaced a 23 year old old school Maytag top loader. My laundry area is on the first floor and the TR5 fits perfectly in the space where the Maytag was. I have cabinets above the washer and drier and the SQ was about the only washer that had a lid height low enough to clear...

Speed Queen TR7 with a transmission!

Water usage My TR5 has an Auto Fill setting which uses technology to supply the best amount of water for maximum cleaning potential. I use that setting all the time now and I haven’t had a load that I haven’t been happy with the results. If it was left up to me to choose the water level, I’m...

AMKrayoGuy just got a NEW WASHING MACHINE!!!!

I would think the pause button would stop the machine, unlock the lid and allow you to add more items to the load. At least that is how my SQ TR5 operates.

Is it possible your hot water heater might be need to be replaced?

What to ask for Speed Queen TC5/DC5 set?

It would help if it has a transferable warranty.

I thought the VMW washers sounded terrible...then I found this

The newer Speed Queen DR3,5,7 washers are much quieter than my old VMW Maytag in the agitation cycle, less than 43 db. My DR5 is in a mud room adjacent to my kitchen and I can do laundry anytime of the day without being annoyed by the noise.

The modern appliance market is a hellscape for people with visual impairments

My Speed Queen TR5003 would be pretty easy to operate. I basically use two different cycles, auto fill and warm. The knobs and buttons are easy to locate and operate.

Speed Queen Residential Going The Way of Maytag

“ Extra heavy sturdy cottons and linens are notorious for getting really dirty and smelly” What are examples of those? The label on my bath towels says warm/gentle cycle. Bedding, gentle cycle. My heaviest cotton pants says cold water. Most of my athletic Under Armour clothing says cold...

Speed Queen Residential Going The Way of Maytag

My 2004 Maytag VMW machine was replaced a few weeks ago with a SQ TR-5003. I’ve been interested in this machine since its introduction. It fits perfectly in the spot where the Maytag was and is pretty much the same size. I have cabinets above the washer and dryer so the height of the lid when...

    Whirlpool-Maytag-KitchenAid dishwashers: 2020 Redesign

I’m anticipating needing a new dishwasher to replace my 2005 Maytag. I removed my kick plate to see if a closed back unit like Bosch would be doable, apparently not since the conduit comes up through the floor. Would the newer Kitchenaid work? It’s not clear to me whether or not it is...
