Washing machine advice - I'm looking for a reliable washer

Follow the repair per the bulletin The tech needs to follow the tech bulletin speed queen put out about the issue otherwise it will happen again. Bulletin:(FB19-1 dated Jan 2019) Updated parts (including parts numbers of revised parts) required are listed in post 11 by DADoEs. This will...

Dishwasher advice - looking for a reliable model

How clean is the filter? How clean is the filter? I usually pop mine out every month and clean it. Instructions on the owners manual. My whirlpool (essentially the same as your Maytag) cleans excellent no matter what I throw at it.

Washing machine advice - I'm looking for a reliable washer

That speed Queen is still under warranty. If it’s only 3 years old it’s under warranty. Never heard of the balance ring on a speed Queen failing either. Post a pic, be interesting to see!

The Speed Queen TR series was Redesigned/Reprogrammed?

Heavy Duty +1 on that. Heavy Duty is all I really ever use. In certain situations delicate or spin only....I have never even tired Normal cycle. FYI: I generally don't use extra rinse either, never had a need even with a family of skin sensitivities. Yet somehow people on here who have never...

The Speed Queen TR series was Redesigned/Reprogrammed?

TR vs TC When I bought my TR the TC was not a thing yet. However the TR does have several advantages over the TC which is why I would buy it again now that the TC is available. Full controll over water level (3 levels) on any cycle (TC has no water level controll except “deep fill”) Auto fill...

The Speed Queen TR series was Redesigned/Reprogrammed?

Thanks for the explanation Eugene. I never use Normal, so that explains why the CR lists such a long cycle. Heavy duty is all I use and it’s a nice quick cycle that washes very well.

The Speed Queen TR series was Redesigned/Reprogrammed?

Load time Where is this 70 minute load time coming from? I’ve never had mine take more than 40 🤔 Am I missing something?

The Speed Queen TR series was Redesigned/Reprogrammed?

TR cycle times My TR5 takes a little under 40 minutes on heavy duty, full fill, no extra rinse.

The Speed Queen TR series was Redesigned/Reprogrammed?

How are TR’s at the shredder You’ve said that before (I believe it was you), and assuming you’re actually seeing them there, how? they have a 5 year warranty and haven’t been out that long?? Insurance jobs (lightning strikes or fire)? I have a TR5 and love it. Everyone on here that actually...

has anyone had this problem with there 220 volt dryer?

So if I’m following your explanation the outlet in the wall was replaced after the cord failed, and the dryer was not plugged into the new outlet untill the cord was replaced by the Maytag tech. If that’s the order of events then you are fine. However if the dryer was plugged into the new...

has anyone had this problem with there 220 volt dryer?

We just don’t want your house to burn down…. We are staying on topic….. If you don’t care about an electrical fire that’s fine, but the plug will burn your house down if it got as hot as the pins on the cord. End of story. It’s a Fire hazard that now has an online paper trial, you’ve been...

Whirlpool direct drive slipping into spin confusion

+1 on Transmission Yogi is correct.... The neutral spin assembly added in the early/mid 80's to the DD was their Achilles heal. Every DD washer I've owned has needed the transmission opened and the neutral drain kit replaced at some point, some as soon as 3 years, some lasted 5. Generally the...

TR Cycle time. FYI: My TR5 on heavy duty takes about 37 minutes. That’s for a full load, hot fill.

How to bypass S.Q. lid switch

Lid lock is different than kid switch The fix here is for a lid SWITCH, and yes, for a lid SWITCH it DOES work. your washer (and mine btw) has a lid LOCK as required for safety due to it not having a tub brake to bring the spinning tub to a stop. Different beast entirely. Also, perhaps...

    Modern Speed Queen Quality

In my years on this earth.... ......I’ve daily driven a belt drive whirlpool in the 80’s, went to 3 DD whirlpool/kenmore machines through the late 80’s and 90’s and early 2000’s. Used a 2001 Frigidaire BD from 2005-2008, moved to a different appartment at the time that had a Maytag FL set...

    Modern Speed Queen Quality

I am aware of Eugene review... I respect the hell out of Eugene, honest guy, smart, helpful, hard worker, but he doesn’t use one every day, and admits it. His specific test showed inferior cleaning, so he personally couldn’t recommend it. Nothing wrong with that, however my daily tests show...

    Modern Speed Queen Quality

TR Owner here-LOVE it! Another TR bashing thread without ever having used one. I’m a mechanic, my wife’s a hairdresser, and my daughter works on a farm, we have 5 cats and a dog. All clothes come out of our TR5 clean and pet hair free! We’ve had ours for about 2 and a half years, 5-7 loads 3x a...

New Bosch dishwasher installed w/o insulation blanket

Not “optional” What a moron! That insulation does a few things: 1) Sound deadening-Most obviously as you now hear.... 2) Keep the heat ‘in’ the DW making it more efficient and effective. 3) Keep the heat off the cabinets where it can cause damage over time So yes, it must go back on.
