    Powders on way out?

I still prefer powders. Tide Makes a good one and supposedly the Costco brand is good too. Next on my list is the sears brand.

What is your Favorate Laundry Soap and Softener?

I like Tide Free, Fresh Start and All powders. As for fabric softeners I like Downy Free, All original scent and Brisa from Stanley home products (way too expensive though). As for liquid detergents I like SUN with Cuddle Soft for light cleaning and the new Tide Simple pleasures rose smells...

    Dishwasher Tabs etc

I like Electrasol the best. Target has started stocking the classic fresh scent lately. Great Value - from wal-mart was rated a consumer reports best buy.

    purex bleach

My Grandmother always used Purex. As a matter of fact she still calls all bleach by the name Purex. I have not seen the product lately either.

    Foca? Anyone ever use it?

I have used Roma and liked it - especially when I add bleach to the wash. It has a scent that reminds me of lemon pledge but washes out in the cycle. Ariel was too perfumy for my tastes. I have not tried Foca yet.

    vacuuming in a commercial setting

Sorry David Forgive me. I did not mean to frighten you. I work at the corporate level for a major competitor. I would just think twice about saying you work there since someone may think you're blowing the whistle on them. Too many tv news shows like to expose things like that to John Q. Public...

    vacuuming in a commercial setting

I would be careful posting pictures of where you work - especially since it is a major hotel chain. I would think your employer's ethics policies would prohibit you from this. Just an FYI though.

    Powders vs Liquids

I too am torn on what to use so I just indulge myself and purchase whatever I want. I have too much but I always tend to buy more. I have recently ordered the Oxyclean powdered detergent and found that it worked well for colors but not so great on whites (I am old-school and like to bleach...

    Vintage Laundry Soaps

Scents I miss the scents of the older (can't say vintage b/c I don't remember much from before the 1980's) detergents. today's detergents seem to be way off key, for me at least. If I wasnted to smell some mountain rain - I'd go to a mountain. Give me some classic scents back please.

    hello

Okay - I've been lurking for a bit and figured that I'd just go ahead and join - LOL. I'm not a fanatic about things but I have found this site interesting and usually hit the pic of the day if I can. I have a Whirlpool washer and dryer but I have no idea what models (accudry comes to mind for...

    TIDE

Well, we are in a recession after all. It makes sense to curb our spending on detergents - LOL. I think that is the reason I passed on it as well. I have also seen lavender-scented Gain.
