    Kim Novak's Maytag dryer

the house architect Kirk Douglas was building for writer Ernie Kovacs while schtupping the hot-to-trot Kim who had the coppertone Maytag) is in Bel-Air. Director Richard Quine was schtupping Kim while the movie was being made, and lived in the house with Kim afterward. Quite an amazing...

    Kim Novak's Maytag dryer

Just watched "Strangers When We Meet"--made in 1960--with Miss N, Kirk Douglas, and a truly reptilian Walter Matthau. Supersudsy--no All or Dash in this production--and pretty sexy for 1960, and a great Los Angeles period piece. But I digress. Seen near the end in Kim's house is a Maytag dryer...

    today's picture (4-26)--our Jane?

thank you, Eugene-- now I know why I liked the Andersons so much--they had slant-fronts. I will have to try to track down that episode. Your info about Kitten explains alot....

GE and BOL Westy Laundromat on PGH craigslist

it is deplorable the ignorance of people! A Westy is so obviously not a Hottie. I mean a Westy is much more fun. I prefer a window, however.

    Heavenly Washday

serious question-- Wondering if that agitator is the Whirly's original? NOT that I question your expertise, mind you--I'm definitely not an expert myself. I didn't know that chrome tops were used as early as 1961, or that particular Whirpool logo. We had a low-line Whirlpool ca. 1965--Magic Mix...

    Heavenly Washday

you're right ok, so can you tell me the difference between a mere Surgilator and a Super Surgilator?
  11. N

    Heavenly Washday

not for sale, but you can borrow it any time. Its agitator is rather lame--just a small arc--but you wouldn't want violent thrashing for such a delicate operation, would you?

    Heavenly Washday

say dirty-- love that Surgilator. Btw, I have a tiny pink automatic washer that would be ideal for those twins. 2 "D" cells required.

    1951 Bendix dryer

hello Toggle Manhattan here--Village (make all the jokes you want...) since 1979. Making do with stacked Bosches these days. Not as exciting as the Laundromat or the blue-light Bendix of my New Orleans childhood, but the washer window is a pleasant reminder of youth.

    1951 Bendix dryer

blue light? Does this Bendix have the blue "ozone" light? I can't remember the trade name for it. We had one growing up with the light. Also--we used to get IN it. We must have been tiny. Still, I think we broke it. A boring Whirpool replaced it.

    Pretty In Pink

totally pinkberry I love it. Lucky for you the former owner didn't find the Westinghouse slant-front dryer currently on Ebay and keep this one-- I think the Clampetts had a set of these pushbutton 'tags, but not in pink... have fun.
