    coffeemasters

Why not make an adapter? Designers create face seal adapters all the time. Cut a 300cres, teflon or rulon ring the shape of the old molded gasket seal. Then cut oring lands into it for a pair of standard sized orings on the sealing faces? Is there something peculiar about the seal geometry...

Sunbeam model 7B mixer manual scans

I liked the manual so much I bought a 7B today. My mom had a later model. Today at the "antiques on the bluff" in stjoe/benton harbor I saw a mixmaster for sale. "I wonder what model it is?" Turned out to be a 7B. "It was used by my aunt, but she only used a microwave the last 20 years, didn't...

    Wig wag and Superba

I was at the Mishwaka IN ReStore looking for new storm door hinges. There's a superba kds21, kinda limed up and the upper rack is not so great on the left rail. It's light tan color. $25 Out back I was looking at stuf by the dumpster. From reading here I recognized the upended washer as a belt...

    Abby Normal & the 1-18/A606

I was thinking I could tap in with a 555 timer where the digital stage transitions to the output transitor drivers. Thus get a VFD that could be toggled with "manual" switches. Alternately, fool the entire controller into thinking it was still a calypso, and let it run - but with vintage...

    Abby Normal & the 1-18/A606

You can rig most any motor, just need the right fan belt to hook it up, and a idler pulley. assuming you ground the case, it's usually just a matter of neutral to neutral and hot to one of the speed wires.... not really complicated. But don't front loaders need a reversing motor to allow for...

    Abby Normal & the 1-18/A606

Frankenwasher.... As you recall, when Eyegore went to fetch the brain for the doctor, he accidently dropped the intended brain ruining it and fetched another that was handy... "Who's brain was this?" "Someone named Abby Normal" I'm not saying I'm going to do this, but it is just a thought...

    Influenza H1N1, I can't believe it's happening.

Cytokine Storm The H1N1 is supposed to be similar to SARS and the 1918 flu. Those were mostly fatal to people with good immune systems, the young children, the very old and depressed immune people were most likely to NOT be harmed. The reason is because these flu types trigger an overresponse...

A problem with the Phiclo, and I'm baffled.

If you use clear vinyl tubing, you can capture a slug of water in the bottom of a droop loop, then when you blow, you can see the slug move and/or bubbles form thru the slug if the diaphragm is leaking.

    Back Porch washer

Ice-Loc, protects pipes from freezing damage I'd forgotten all about this, it is a much easier solution. "When water freezes, it expands to a larger volume than it occupied in the liquid state. This expansion change can form ice plugs which exert several thousand pounds of pressure per square...

A problem with the Phiclo, and I'm baffled.

Joe, I'm sure you know this... ------------- Connect tubing to switch Blow up a balloon. Push tubing into balloon. Hold tight to seal Observe balloon for deflation, leaking diaphragm. I had to replace a 22 yr old cruise control servo because the diaphragm leaked at the center joint with the...

    Back Porch washer

Oh, and Kenny I'm looking for a '88 or so DD whirlpool with some life left in it. My mom's DD from then is still going strong - so that's a natural for the porch installation, something she knows, and we know lasts/runs for years without a failure. Keep your eyes open. Thanks.

    Back Porch washer

What is the best setup for a back porch washer? Northern Indiana, Goatfarmer territory. "My brother just put a light under it to keep it warm. It sat out on the back porch and worked fine all winter." Unheated. So says my 85 yr old mom, who wants a "no stairs" setup. "Just put a washer on the...

A problem with the Phiclo, and I'm baffled.

Is there a leak in the diaphragm? Blowing in the tub you can compensate for that, a rotten diaphragm can leak but when hooked up to the tub will not hold pressure.

    Gas refridgerators?

I recall reading research into running absorbtion using alcohol instead of ammonia. ---------- Given a phase change media, one ought to get it "cool" during sunshine hours to use after. Thus solar absorbtion, certainly via ammonia systems, are possible for whatever. My workplace uses 3 tanks of...

Not disassembled as yet Thanks, if/when I get the microwave disassembled I will have that number. Currently it is together and functioning in it's elder appliance way. I thought someone might have a parts list for the model, and thus a cross reference.
