    old amusement park closed :(

Who Remembers This One? Pacific Ocean Park in Venice,CA. Take a look at the URL. Having lived in Venice while in college, there is no sign that anything of the sort ever existed. I remember our last visit there. It was 1962, we were headed to the park driving in my mother's brand new Mercury...

Mini meeting of some kind in Denver

Denver Meeting Sure Reggie. I think you should go for it. There have been several "mini-meets" in various parts of the country and Denver would be a great place because of the central location. I still don't know why we haven't had a VCCC Convention there. Having lived in Littleton for 7 years...

    A summer time picture thread!!

Hey Scott....... Of course I will look you up when we come out to visit. I giggled when you mentioned that Mark likes to say he lives in Encino. It IS more fashionable to say you live in a "really good part of Encino" than Van Nuys, which has always been a less desirable area. LOL. Mark is a...

    A summer time picture thread!!

Kirby Vacuum Co...... Yeah Fred, I DO remember the Kirby store. Those WERE the days. I had much better luck at the thrift stores in CA and even in CO. When Jeff Parker visited, we went around to all the thrift stores in the Denver metro area and filled up the back of my friend's Volvo wagon...

    A summer time picture thread!!

Those were the days...... I know exactly where you lived. South of Ventura Bl, off Hayvenhurst. Not too far from Topanga State Park. It is so hard to believe the cost of real estate out there now. We moved to Colorado in 1995 and sold our home in North Hollywood for $500,000. It now tops 1mil...

    Vac Collectors/Your Rarest Vacuum cleaner

Skip OMG!! I feel bad for Kyle. Was it like the one I have or the more common bullet style? Mine is MINT except the hose is not original. I feel grateful to have acquired mine as it was a gift from a friend Chad. He knew I wanted one ever since I saw the one on display at Stark's when we...

    Vac Collectors/Your Rarest Vacuum cleaner

Thanks Skip Actually, I do not have a Convert-o-Vac in my collection, but would love to since I tend to gravitate more toward the more obscure machines. My next quest is to acquire an Atlas. As you probably know, I sold quite a few of my vacuums before moving from Denver to Atlanta because I...

    Vac Collectors/Your Rarest Vacuum cleaner

A Beauty This is my Westinghouse Carousel Cleaner, circa 1957. It is brand new in the original box and all tools and wands were wrapped in the orignial packaging. The hose is like brand new and is still flexible...no stiffining over the years. Enjoy!! Robb

Show me yours......I'll show you mine.....

RE: Beautiful 62 Super 88 Hey Darrel. I think 62 was a good year for most all car manufacturers and there were few that I did not like. My mother had a 62 Mercury Monterey S55. That was an attractive car!! And FAST too. Mom tended to have a lead foot anyway. She traded that in for a 68 Mercury...

Show me yours......I'll show you mine.....

This one is mine OK. I have one to share too for you Oldsmobile fans. This is my 1962 Olds Super 88 with only 67,000 miles on it. It belonged to my Great Aunt and she purchased it new in August of 1962. I acquired it in 1994, when she stopped driving due to her age. Since she knew I always...
