Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Cool Oldsmobiles! Sorry to see your '03 met it's demise. My Dad had always been an Oldsmobile guy too. He owned a 1973 Omega. Basically a Chevy Nova body with the Olds 350 in it, and a really fancy interior. That was a FAST car! He also owned a 1980 Cutlass Cruiser with one of the notorious diesel engines in it. He drove it for 200,000 miles, then sold it to a local rescue squad, and they put another 100,000 miles on it! One of my favorite Oldsmobiles is the mid 60's Toronados. What a futuristic looking ride! I think any of the "last hurrah" Oldsmobiles that came out after 2000 or so will probably be future collectables just because of their rarety. I think GM used Saturn as a front to get rid of Olds :( Much of what Saturn does now, Olds used to do

Tom, you'll probably get some really good mileage out of that Honda. I owned a 1978 civice CVCC, and a 1985 Prelude. Honda previously had issues with automatic transmissions being reliable, rust and paint issues, electrical gremlins, and as far as comfort, the seats were just too small, and they were geared too short for the faster American highway speeds.

Honda now engineers their vehicles right here in the USA, and all those shortcomings are now history. I've been absloutely amazed at all the older rust-free Hondas out there. The cars have been "Americanized" with taller gears to slow the engines down at highway speeds, and have much more legroom in them.

I've heard many people call the Honda Accord a "refrigerator car" because just like a refrigerator, it just runs and runs without having to do anything to it. A vehicle you can count on running and don't give it a second thought.

This one is mine

OK. I have one to share too for you Oldsmobile fans. This is my 1962 Olds Super 88 with only 67,000 miles on it. It belonged to my Great Aunt and she purchased it new in August of 1962. I acquired it in 1994, when she stopped driving due to her age. Since she knew I always loved the car and was the only one in the family that would appreciate it, she gave it to me. It has factory air, and yes, that little annoying buzzer for the speed alert and power trunk release. My daily driver is a 2006 Nissan 350Z, which I just purchased last month. Will put a pic of it up soon. Take care all, Robb

I have hoover1060's sister

I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria with 30,000 miles on it. These cars do get pretty good mileage on the highway, once when I really feathered the pedal, I got close to 28 mpg. In town, admittedly it will get 16 with just town driving. I have the lx, doesn't have the dual exhaust option like the police interceptor models. These cars along with the Lincoln Town Car are the last cars made with body on frame, rear drive configuration. I wish they still made a station wagon with tow option. Then I could use it to tow my trailer.

I wish I had all of the cars that I ever owned, like my 1969 GTO convertible, and 1961 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. But at the time they seemed like old cars. Darn, I wish I had kept some of my old appliances too, I had a Maytag AMP in 1967, left it when I moved.

As others have shown, the wonderful vintage cars are still out there being driven. As are the vintage washers and other appliances.

I love seeing all of you guy's cars!!!

RE: Beautiful 62 Super 88

Hey Darrel. I think 62 was a good year for most all car manufacturers and there were few that I did not like. My mother had a 62 Mercury Monterey S55. That was an attractive car!! And FAST too. Mom tended to have a lead foot anyway. She traded that in for a 68 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT with a 390 V-8. She kept that car until she died in 1994, and we still own it today. My brother has it in CA. The Olds has manual seats and windows but does have the Wonderbar radio though. Other than that, no other options. I do think the spinner hub caps dresses up the car more than the standard caps, don't you?

Love the 66 LeSabre. It reminds me of the 66 Caprice that belonged to the friends of my parents. A gorgeous tan colored 2 dr hardtop with vinyl roof and beautiful red bucket seats, console shifter. Whenever they came to visit I would sit in their car and play around with the power windows etc. dreaming. I was only about 11 at the time, but when I turned 16 and had my license, the Mrs. came over one day to visit mom and she still had that car and let me take it out all by myself for a couple of hours while she visited. I was spoiled after that, no mundane cars for me.

Jeff, I love your taste in cars. The Mercury Grand Marquis/Ford Crown Victoria is a wonderful classic American car. But that Electra Estate Wagon really beats most other cars. If we had a bit more space in this town I would love to have a station wagon from that era, especially with the wood panels. I love the lighter color combination, fascinating car!! Did it have a light interior as well?

1967 Coupe de Ville

I bought this one owner car in 1982 with just over 25,000 miles on the speedo. It had every conceivable option on the list, including vinyl roof, auto climate control, leather bucket 6 way power seats (driver and pass.), am/fm stereo radio with 4 speakers, power windows and vents, tilt and telescope steering wheel, electric power antenna, automatic headlight dimmer, cruise control, automatic level ride adjustment (rear shocks), cornering lights, etc. It rode like a cloud.

When I bought the car it had like seven drops of gas in the tank. Just 2 blocks away from where I picked her up there was a gas station, and I barely made it to the gas station on the last coughs of the motor. I told the station boy "Fill 'er up". I will never forget the expression on his face when it tanked almost 120 liters! Why I sold this car three years later is something I will never ever forgive myself!

1981 Buick Skylark Limited

I tend to fall in love with my cars. I must admit this is one of the most lovable cars I ever had. The car was fully loaded, including CB radio, power windows, a/c, power seats, etc. I don't know why, but in the picture it looks like a midget car, but it was quite comfortable inside.

When I took this picture I was on vacation in Catamarca, around 900 miles to the north of Buenos Aires. While driving there at something like 80 mph, the rear back tire literally blew away, shredding to pieces. The shredded tire had hit the lower back side trim, behind the wheel well, and the trim just "dissappeared". Luckily the car had great handling, and I could stop the car safely and no one was hurt!

Great pictures...will have to include mine when I clean it up, LOL! All of them look great, but I just LOVE Dwight's '66 LeSabre, Jeff's '76 Electra, and Tom's '71 Olds...great styling on those. I have a soft spot for old Cadillacs as well, the '78 Eldorado and '67 CdV are stunning, and Rick, your '55 is definitely another beauty!

Keep 'em coming!

Buick Innards....

Louis, this was interior of my mom's LeSabre. The Electra wagon's interior was the same color as this, just different seats. My mom always said the seats in the that 85 LeSabre looked like the inside of a casket!
This color was called dark claret.
The I still have the sticker for the station wagon, in 1988 it was $20,500...the exterior color was called "Cotillion white"

wagon from the front

I remember taking this picture shortly after bringing the wagon home, so this would be May of 1988...
I still miss this car too!

Christine's quiet cousin...

Here is a photo of my 1957 Plymouth Savoy 4 door sedan...in grey with white sportone. It came from Danville, IL. I was the third owner...the first had it stored for over 25 years. She was rust free and had a 301 "poly" V-8. The greatest feature of the car had to be the push button drive. It was called Powerflite. Just push a button and click you were in drive or reverse...there was no park just a parking brake. I liked the car because no one ever sees these just the Chevy from the same year...This was my only car out of the GM family until my recent Honda purchase. The Plymouth was a very odd car to work on and I never quite got the hang of working on it especially the brakes. I sold the car in 2002...sorry now but I needed the space. There is just something about those fins!!!! Oh and by the way...I NEVER turned on the radio nor ate inside the car. My car always behaved itself and has not come back on its own.

Robb, I LOVE your 62 Olds! And the fact that it was your great aunts makes it even more special. Not too many of these cars were saved you know. They are fairly rare.

Here are a couple detailed photos of my 61 Olds. I got this car from my grandmother in 1978. It was restored in 2001.

Dash, with factory air,and a rare factory cruise control. The speed settings are selected via the gray dial at the left upper section of the dash.

It is just great to see all these vintage classic cars! They are just a perfect topic for summer in our Super section. Summer is car show weather for lots of us!

My late Mustang

I have since gone to a boring, but very loyal and trouble-free, '89 Volvo wagon, but this was my baby for many years.

Toggle, this was during the last years of my go-go boy phase ;-)
