    First Arrival.

I used to have this colour of HMDL, currently have the last version of grey, T5090. I have never had an instruction book for a HMDL, and I always wondered how to get the flow of rinse water right into the spinner, and I noticed that the white plastic thingy round the hose is the flow indicator...

Hotpoint Automatic De Luxe 1509/05 - the Phoenix has arisen!

Looking good! Those amethyst Hotpoints were always stylish in my mind. The only top loader I would have to be honest. There is a Hotpoint toploader on Ebay at the moment.

    Child hood machines...

Childhood machines.... well. Born in 1979 and my mum already had a Colston Concorde twinny fron 1975 which was part of her "bottom drawer". That lasted until I was about 13 I think, then she got fed up with having steam in the kitchen every Thursday with mounds of washing all over the kitchen...

    Hoover T5054

How much do you want for it? Is the T5054 the one with the orange dials and spray arm?

Hoover 0517 stopped spinning today :(

Sounds like the valve in the pump is knackered. I had this happen to me before with my old T5090. Had wash water coming up through the spinner, although it did pump out, slowly. Prob need a new pump, or repair it.

LOVE your kitchen Ricky!! I have similar taste as you, although I am more 60's than 50's. Luckily I live in a 60's high rise and already have the vintage fitted cupboards, round sink with supataps, electric laundry drying cupboard... All original from when the block was built. I remember seeing...

Is there any classic machine you dislike or hate?

From a UK point of view... Hmmmm, not sure. Vintage here in the UK is mainly to do with single and twin tubs as automatic were not really widely sold until the early 80's. Well, again as someone metioned, it is all about the agitator with me. I HATE the Hotpoint twin tub and top loader agi, as...

    COLSTON

Colston twin tubs. My mum and nana both bought a Colston twin tub each at the same time when my mum got married in 1975. Mum had the Concorde as she was planning a family (eventually me in '79 and bro in '81 lol) and machine was bigger than the Coronet, which my nana got to replace her ageing...

Applainces used for Home Ecomomics in your School & Educational Institutions

At my high school we had a Hoover Logic 1600 and matching dryer in the "flat". The flat was built with the school in the 1960's in the home ec block, it was used for child care and household management. They only used to use the washer and dryer for the tea towels used in the cooking classes...
