KA Dishwasher KDTE254Ess1 Wash arms not rotating - Diverter?

I think these do timed fills? Can't find a pressure switch on the parts diagrams at least. Doing the old adding gallon of water after it filled trick to check if that does anything just in case it's a clogged up fill valve or so. A broken diverter in my mind would lead to an error code...

    Unimac (Primus) Rattling Noise

Bearings do get quite hot even when running properly, especially at high speeds. It's not uncommon for the back of the drum to feel almost body temp in machines over here, especially with very large drums and extra high spin speeds. That's for example why Miele has a patent about their plastic...

Front loader or top loader machines?

I think there's a big gap between what makes sense for day to day use nowadays and what's more valuable in a collectors mind. If you just want something to throw clothes in, get them out an hour later as clean as needed and you don't have any particular context (nothing like 20 shedding...

    Replacing a Neptune

(Though this is reheating an old thread...) That's as so often really dependent on how you use your machine. It's the same old debate as that all FLs go moldy. They can, but it never happened to me and I don't think it really will necessarily. It's kind of hard to see - but after 3 1/2 years...

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

For me neither. Issue is I'm not the average customer, and the average customer does want at least the option to have a 1h cycle. And QuickIntense is a really amazing quick wash cycle - it's really well done. If Miele can't do 60min on cold fill with 120V I'm convinced nobody else really can.

    The 2025 Hotpoint HTW265ASWWW - Review

That GE design really has a horrible sound to it - not only is it fairly noisy, the quality of noise itself is pretty unpleasant in my ears. But with these, those very basic machines are a great choice especially with the manual water level selector.

Sealed Tubs in Front Loaders (VIDEO)

Given the forces the bearings have to transmit, you really want a "wide stance" on what ever construct they are fitted into. Basically a lever meaning what ever holds the bearings in the end is not getting any big torsion forces. And you need something in line with the linear forces to brace...

Sealed Tubs in Front Loaders (VIDEO)

I'm a bit more awake now, and have something to add for a bit of a comparison. I went back to check if the Midea machines have splittable tubs here - and they do! A back tub with bearings can be had for 75€ for a base 7kg machine - but that's for a 280€ machine. In lieu I also stumbled across...

Sealed Tubs in Front Loaders (VIDEO)

He has a lot of opinions I personally put down to "old man yelling at clouds" - but that's just me... Sealed tubs are indeed a huge PITA for future collectors. It is a certain repairability issue. And there are stil a bunch of machines here in the EU (and thus the UK) that have splittable tubs...

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

I think that even the pre G6000 Mieles weren't all that great on cold water in the US - at least for the Gxxx machines, I think Miele was heavily implying to have them hooked up to warm water. Honestly not to sure about Bosches though I don't know of any US DW design off the top of my head...

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

The cold water filling option is only recently effectively possible at all for the US. At 15A and 120V (assuming your DW has it's own breaker) you'd have a max capacity of 1800W. Given that heating with a DW is an extended thing, the 80% rule is in place, leaving you with 1500W continuous...

    Siemens WR47B2C40 - A review

I think Miele will take quite some time to get there if they go the great redesign route and not the Arcelik "just make it work" direction. That's at least one thing Miele still appears to be doing - longer development cycles for their products.

    Siemens WG56B2A41 - a review

That's actually something I was wondering as well. My VZug did, and obviously, Miele does. Some Samsungs do. Why not these? I mean, these must do similar current and voltage monitoring like the Miele? At least in the app they could give you a quick note.

    Help me decide

I think there is a bit of nuance to that. First off, of course, every fibre is different. 20lbs of towels has a different volume compared to 20lbs of T-Shirts. But further, there is certainly a degree where stuff like programming and design can offset the drum volume to load size relationship. A...

    Siemens WG56B2A41 - a review

Would have guessed tumbling would be less intensive to reduce noise - and in turn, you'd add some time. But if even Interim spins and final spin are the same - yeah don't really get that...

    Siemens WG56B2A41 - a review

This week, I used the delicates cycle. While I would not trust that with Silks like it claims, it's not as terrible as some say, at least in my view. I don't get why it tumbles THAT vigorously, and only 2 rinses by default without interim spins is a bit disappointing. But it at least offers a...

    Siemens WR47B2C40 - A review

I still really love the dryer. It's really the go to recommendation for me from now on. I haven't dried a pillow yet - but it is surprisingly good at sensing, nothing so far has let me down particularly. I tried the Wool cycle this week and was surprised it reverses every 5min as well. Would...

Fisher and Paykel washer combined heat pump drier

No, that Samsung is a Samsung. The F&P is the Haier Design. The LG HP combo is the only one that hasn't crossed the pond in any way yet. The US general review is that both can perform well. The Samsung can dry a bitter better in general according to reviews, but the F&P has a full detergent...

    Siemens WR47B2C40 - A review

This is Siemens first A-class dryer, with a completly new base design. TL;DR: If you don't plan on using VarioSpeed all to frequently and can live with 3h drying times, I don't think you'll find a better dryer. The "nerd" review: Quality is - as with the washer - as good as you'd expect. The...
