Buying a new Toilet this weekend - Any advice?

I chatted with a guy that started out pumping septic tanks for his dads septic company then switched to working in the city sanitary department for a government retirement with benefits. He stated that low flow toilets are one of the main reasons for plugged septic fields and plugged sewer lines...

    AI Erasing Vintage Appliance History?

There are so many things I wished I would have archived myself. My gut told me to do it but my idiot brain convinced me it would always be there. The mid 90's through 2008-ish were the lawless wild west days of the internet.

    AI Erasing Vintage Appliance History?

TONS of information is being scrubbed off of internet archives such as Archive.org. I noticed the beginning of it around 2014. It's modern day book burning and AI will only speed the process up.

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

Some of the tunes had different names, received different names for specific albums, or received different names after being digitized. It can be really confusing at times. Is this it?

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

I think the tuned sound absorber was gone by the very early 2000's. Late 90's was peak of the PC/UW models. I'm surprised that most aren't aware that Hobart got their start making (high quality) motors in 1897. Not sure when they stopped doing that, probably the 1980's I guess.

    KitchenAid KDS-17 Superba

    Oh damn, I was 10 off. KDS-57 = KDS-17. Yep, 67 won't work at all!

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

I had zero complaints with my KDS-19 or running the KDS-18 and KDS-20 on air dry.

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

Don't get me wrong, I love these dishwashers. They're fast, durable, reliable, powerful and easy to repair but times have drastically changed. I still run my modified KDS-18 here and there either as an overflow or for fun. Every time I run it, I put insanely dirty dishes that my Point Voyager...

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

By today's standards, these are enormously loud but I grew up with them and used 'em as daily drivers until I was 37 years old. It doesn't bother me in the least and sounds like "home" if that makes any sense. Modern dishwashers are insanely quiet compared to these monsters. Homes built from the...

I have never downloaded anything from there so I can't help with that. Someone here will be able to respond shortly.

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

Wouldn't jive today, most want a silent running dishwasher in these modern times. They would miserably fail efficiency standards in electricity use alone without incorporating water use. Besides, there isn't enough water use allowed to make them operational. My KDS-18 uses more water in the...

    The KitchenAid EnergySaver IV's - 16mm Film

Biggest motor installed in a residential dishwasher. Hobart was still using that motor up until somewhat recently on their SR-24 commercial dishwashers.

    KitchenAid KDS-17 Superba

There's a service manual for the 67 series available which is the portable version of the 17 series. It's the same design except on wheels along with external water fill and drain hoses/accesories...

(dishwasher) are these any good? mid-'00s WP horizontal motor.

Disagree, lower rack performance is acceptable but upper rack performance is miserable. I'm still on the lookout to replace mine that's aggravating the hell out of me. Worst performing dishwasher I have owned in 40 years. It's quiet though, if noise is an important factor.

19 Series! Love those KPM tracks, hopefully they won't trigger a copyright flag.

    KitchenAid KDS-17 Superba

The timer may not be resetting itself when the door handle is opened after the cycle has finished. You should hear the timer reset itself when this is done. I'm not familiar with the 17 models but the 18-20 series are notorious for the plastic arm that's responsible for resetting the timer when...
