Well I guess I'm psycho. The townhouse community I live in has dumpsters and grease tends to build up in the bottom and smell terrible. Louisiana weather+grease=horrific smells. It also tends to attract all kinds of critters like raccoons, opossums, and things that creep and crawl.

I do it all the time. I've been in my house a year now and never had a problem. I also let my George foreman grill run into the sink instead of collection tray. I even drained ground beef grease into the drain today still no issues and I don't run water after or anything.

jdwilson....I see you're in Houston, there is an electric motor shop locally here in Louisiana that may be able to rewind it. I brought a hot tub circulation motor to them last year, and they were able to rebuild for $150. Not sure if you would be interested in the drive.

Clutch I have not even tested the unit yet so I'm not sure if it works. Hopefully sometime this week I will get to test it. Also plan to buy 2 spare clutches and a spare NIB transmission and motor so I can keep this as a collectors item.

My mom had a set of Maytags like in the picture. She offered them to me in 2013 and I regret passing them up and wish I could find another pair.

The seller says it works fine and is delivering to my house. So can’t exactly hook it up. It’s been in storage and if the “transmission” is just the $200 pulley assembly I can live with that but if it’s the no longer available transmission then it isn’t worth the $200 plus sourcing...

Hey everyone, I have the chance to get a Maytag Neptune for $200 locally. Is this a machine worth purchasing or should I let it pass on by? I seem to have found mixed reviews from you guys about the paddle agitation.

Is the top of the machine still in good shape?

I have a Volvo and the front headrests do not move. Honestly I rarely even use or notice them. It does have the WHIPS system that makes the whole seat and headrest move in a crash. Haven’t tried it out yet and hope I never have to.

1965 I had a 1965 Astrosonic that I was going to repair. Spent the last year trying to find parts and someone willing to repair. Both are like needles in a haystack. I ended up throwing mine in a dumpster. I wish you the best of luck with repair of the unit.

Can someone please help me ID my range so I can get the repair manual and replacement infinite switch that’s causing my “HOT” light staying on.
