RARE!!! Frigidaire Fold Back Surface Units!!

Didn't you have a thrift store to which they could have been donated? Back when giant huge boom boxes were a thing John found a 4 unit one at a thrift store in DC. He put it on his shoulder to carry to his car and some guy asked him where he got the great boom box. The only other manufacturer...

RARE!!! Frigidaire Fold Back Surface Units!!

What do you mean by "don't heat up all the way?" Are you talking about portions not glowing red/orange? Actually, they should not glow under a pan if they are making proper contact. If the 5 gallon pots did not have flat bases, the elements might have warped under them which would explain what...

RARE!!! Frigidaire Fold Back Surface Units!!

And the big fat elements stored so much heat that switching the heat to Simmer actually allowed cooking on higher heats as the element settled down to Simmer. There was never a chance of a boil dying because the heat was reduced too soon. At the other end of the heat settings, skillets were...

Maytag Wringer Washer E2LS - Oh no! I think I broke it!

The other thing many users did to bypass the pedal was to park a leg of the washer on it.

I wonder what attacked the dryer. Those are like my like my babies. The dryer was the first major I purchased new in 1975. Like me, it has spent most of its life just sitting and looking pretty.

RARE!!! Frigidaire Fold Back Surface Units!!

You cannot scour a chrome oven lining. You use oven cleaner with sodium hydroxide in a warm (150F) oven and go at the mess with soft cloths, no miracle fiber cleaning cloths, no scouring pads, none of that stuff or you will leave scratches and scuffs. To help prevent the mess, Frigidaire...

Whirlpool Bathtubs & Jetted Showers Are A Fad

Why do you feel you deserve a welcome message? Most people I know on the spectrum are quiet and retiring in public.

    Tide Detergent

Thank you, Launderess. I have a 10 pound bucket delivered every four months on a subscription plan through Amazon Prime. I keep a container downstairs for laundry and a smaller one upstairs for the dishwashers. I imagine I keep a long section of our street's sewer pipes free from buildup along...

Near new looking Kenmore stove at our restore for $150 Canadian.

It had more to do with ungrounded small appliances being used on a grounded appliance and the resulting shock hazard. This was from about the same time as Underwriters Laboratories mandating push to turn surface unit controls.

    WT Grant/Bradford appliance sourcing

In their range brochures, they showed a Westinghouse range, only one, and it stood out from the Sunray dreck like flecks of mica on a bowl of oatmeal.

    Interesting acquisition...

I remember that bucket sitting beside our waterfall Kenmore in the basement of our house in Illinois in 1954. All came about when the industry was trying to develop non-sudsing surfactants for dishwasher detergents and it was the not quite there yet point.

I remember the episodes in the early 60s, maybe when Kodak was sponsoring the show and Rick was the last one out of the front door in a white sweater and he had a Kodak camera around his neck. I envied that camera.

At least take the shite off it before posting pics of your sale item :)

OMG!! That is an early 50s Admiral with the surface unit controls with the little meter-like strips that moved up and down with the heat settings.

It did have that bol Tappan electric range. I have often wondered how they kept the plumbing on that back porch with the laundry from freezing in Midwestern winters.
