That 260 makes me swoon. I've never seen one with a chrome hood. Beautiful! My 260 has a brushroll and belt setup that's very similar to a hoover 61, or many other Hoover uprights from that time. It has two little clips that hold the brushroll in place, and the bottom plate is 2 separate pieces...

Speaking of missing parts.... The vac repair shop I work at is no longer able to get switches for old convertibles and dial-a-matics. Apparently they've been discontinued my boss says...it made me really sad. Bad sign. Corey

A little past the subject but... I absolutely love those small Panasonics. A red and off-white one came into the shop I work at, and it looked like a tiny self-propelled Dial-a-Matic (without a p/d of course). It was super quiet, and was built very tough. I really hope I find one for myself one...

I rarely get lucky at the thrift stores in Ohio. I can go for months without a decent find. I really hate it when there's vacuums in the back that customers aren't allowed to look at yet. I'll go back a few days later and they'll just be gone. It's all very cruel. Corey
