A Hoover weekend in Lime Green

These 2 hoover machines were this weekends swap-meet finds the floor polisher circa 1973 has a cansiter on the front for rug shampoo or floor wax it came with the original manual all the brushes and felt pads and it works .The dial-a-matic works also both are a real cool lime green !!!

Harvey, I have that same floor-a-matic and I love it. Haven't used it on carpet yet, but it does a great job on hard floors--and it cleans up after itself.

Better even than the Floor Mate.

That Dial a Matic is model 1130, one of the more rare ones, 1969-71.

Great looking Hoovers! I really like the colors! Your DAM looks to be a model 1130 from 1969-1972. These are very unique machines and will always draw attention. Congrats on these finds.

Those are both really cool! I've never seen that tray thing on a floor-a-matic before. What is that thing that sticks out in the front?

Shampoo Tray

You put the tray on the bottom of the machine when you use it to shampoo rugs.. It keeps the foam from getting up into the squeegee, helps distribute the foam.. and much like on a Kirby, can collect some of the used suds... from what I understand.

Otherwise, the tray just snaps off for regular use.
