    Green Our Way

I'd like to bump this thread back up... ...because I've tried to be more energy-conscious-green for awhile. Some of the stuff I do. And jump in and let me know if I'm off the mark, or have other ideas. The next door neighbors were helpful in this regard. By jacking up my full size washer and...

!!!! What's a "sal"? Wild pig? So, my sister-in-law was in Hawaii again, eh? Please pass my thanks and appreciation to your neighbor down the street. John

    Interesting dishwasher detergent comparison

(For the record, and to stay on track) In the dishwasher, I've always used Cascade power. My mother swore by it. John

    Interesting dishwasher detergent comparison

You can be sure....if it's AutmaticWasher.org For quite awhile, I'd been using liquid laundry detergent. On a different thread, someone said the same brand of detergent worked better in powder form than liquid. Given that 95% of the folks here have worked on or own 95% of the machines ever...

    Portable Whirlpool "World Washer"....uh oh...?

Hey there, gotwasher... ...I noticed that it was made in Brazil. On another thread, it was mentioned, I believe, that in Brazil this machine is known as Consul. Even though it does not have as much functionality as my previous washer, I really do like this one and am very happy with it so far...

    Filter Queen Vacuum

Yay for vacuum fever! It's always good to have an additional vacuum...you never know when one is going to throw a belt (and you don't have another in stock) or a brushroll need to be replaced -- and it will take a week to get and you have guests coming over this evening. For that very reason...

    depression

Chuck!!!! Sooooo good to hear from you! I'm glad you posted! Cymbalta shimbalta...if you had bad side effects, no, then it's not the medication of choice for you. I had the same type of reactions when I was on Paxil. Anxiety to the max. I was switched to Zoloft, and now am a Living Temple of...

    AW turns 1000..

Agreed! And kudos go to Robert for creating the right environment, and to the members, for maintaining that environment. I've been on, and have run, various forums in my day. If there is one rule, it's that the Sysmaster sets the tone. An old quote made to the King of France "Sire, where the...

    Filter Queen Vacuum

I don't own an FQ (yet)...but for stair and overhead wor ...I use my backpack vac. But canister wise, what I would suggest (and myself will probably do) is get a hose from a vac shop long enough that I can leave the canister (my beloved Royal Pony Vac) at the botton of the stairs, and be able...

    depression

Chuck... ...Paul's idea of the online support is a good one...DBSA (Depression Bi-Polar Support Alliance) no longer has a chat room...but there is another site called "Edwina's Bipolar Depression Support" which does have a chat room with some great peer support. The link is below. Click on...

    newer washers and dryers

According to Wikipedia... ...another name for "clothes horse" is "winterdyke." I'll let you all think on that one. Jon, I've been pondering getting one of these, and I think your post just cinched it. I have in mind a "laundry center" sort of design with my portable washer, cheesy dryer...

    Which kitty litter???

Ben is a little nut! He's about a year old, according to the vet. Not sure, since he was a stray. But a very loveable, friendly, sociable stray. But since his arrival, everything is backwards in my place. The dog ignores him for the most part -- even when he chases the dog. But they do get...

    newer washers and dryers

Same here, Lawrence... ...my neighborhood is ok....I live in a 6 unit apartment building. 5 of us are just fine, but one couple (who are fighting loudly as I type this) have ruined our equipment in the common laundry area. So I now have a portable in my apartment, and a 110volt chinsy dryer. I...

    Which kitty litter???

Beautiful kitty indeed... ...perfect tabby "M" on the forehead. (There's a story about how tabby's got their M, but you probably already know it!) And Hello from Saint Louis Mark! Here's my goofy Ben...he was a friendly stray hanging around work. So I adopted him. Another work friend, who...

    depression

Chuck... I hope you are online and reading this. Try to get ahold of someone and talk. I take medication for depression, so it keeps me out of those dark, dank, times. Things are tough right now in the world and everywhere. It's hard not do get down. But, and I know this sounds trite -- but...

    Which kitty litter???

And FWIW... ...I use Fresh Step w/Carbon as well...but it has that dust. There is a corn cob based Perfect Litter (I think) that's supposed to be the be all end all of cat litters. But it's pricey. Possibly a silica gel litter? I'm shooting in the dark here, and would be interested in the...
