Bluesky is great Paul, I'm there too, I just followed you.

Early 1950's Hotpoint dishwasher timer replacement...

Hi David, very interesting. I generally prefer Cascade powder in the vintage dishwashers, I find it works better and much less issue with suds than those packets. The spray in these vintage machines is so much more powerful so they have a tendency to create more suds especially if the dishes...

Early 1950's Hotpoint dishwasher timer replacement...

I figured you were sending 120 volts into the PLC inputs as it appeared that way from the wiring you did as shown in your video. When I've created custom machines I use the external motor controller (Teco L510 VFD) for the PLC to receive signals from the washer's timer or other custom sensors...

Early 1950's Hotpoint dishwasher timer replacement...

Absolutely fascinating and great work David!!!. Sometimes when you don't have the parts you need you have to think out of the box to get these machines back to running again. Question for the electrical input signals from the dishwasher to the PLC unit are you sending 120 volts? Most of the...

    WAYMO Technology

No worries, that is a picture of me from 25 years ago. It's an old image for sure!

    WAYMO Technology

Lol, Matt you're digging this hole deeper. I'm retired, in my 60s and on Social Security. I clearly remember many things about the 60s.

    WAYMO Technology

Now apply your statement above to the first humans riding horses, horse-drawn carriages, boats, trains, cars, airplanes and wringer washers (which occasionally killed housewives and other bystanders). We'd be living in caves and our lives would be a lot more dangerous without creating new...

    WAYMO Technology

No one said that they were perfect or will ever achieve a 100% error free rate. However in time I have little doubt that these self driving vehicles will be much safer than human driven vehicles. From what I've read about Waymo they may be very close to that goal.

    WAYMO Technology

Yes I complete agree with you Dan, however Waymo just placed about a dozen test cars on the streets of Minneapolis so we will know soon enough. We've had the coldest start to winter in 15 years here this year. It hasn't come above freezing since Nov 25 and it doesn't look like it's going to...

    WAYMO Technology

But if these cars are using radar to "see" I would think that they would be able to see better than any human ever could ever see in fog, heavy rain or blowing snow. I also assume there will be a time where self driving cars in the vicinity of each other will be able to communicate their...

    WAYMO Technology

Waymo just started testing here in Minneapolis, it's the first winter weather city that they're testing in. I'm looking forward to using them once they map out the city and go live here. I hope in 20 years to have my own Waymo car someday!

    The Almighty Pulsator!

I'm a snowbird and I'm done making parts for the season. When I get home in the spring I can certainly make you a new pulsator along with new agitator rings and cap for you '57.

    Removing a Frigidaire pulsator

If you decide to Dremel it off, more than likely you can rig something up such as stainless steel fender washers held down with a large stainless steel nut the same thread size as the shaft.

    Removing a Frigidaire pulsator

No it's standard lefty-loosie. I've had to take my Dremel tool to cut those off occasionally if you have extra mounting nuts. You can also try heating it gently with a torch.

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

Boy this so much fun to do. Look how excited Ken the washerman is lol! He's almost as excited as I would be to be able to go to laundromat like this again. It's just like the laundromats I remember in the late 60's as a kid! This was created by using a 1960 postcard of this real laundromat.

    Ai Detergent works?

No I have no other suggestions however those recipes may be accurate (unlikely) but without actually making the recipes and comparing the smell to some detergent that has a bit of its scent left ,there isn't a way to know for sure.

    Ai Detergent works?

I'm very suspicious about how exactly AI would know the exact smell of 60+ year old detergent, but it certainly is worth a try! Did you try Tide from around 1960? It's main scent is a combination of detergent soap like smell, Lilly of the Valley and White Musk scents. Would be interesting to...

    Ai Detergent works?

Well this is very fascinating J.I! As I use AI quite a bit for creative work I'm very curious how you used AI to detect a scent and convert it to a essential oil recipe?

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

He's alive! You guys remember from the old site the Kenmore washer man that I used for general information? Well now he's brought to life! Check out the attached video. Oh if only I had this tech 25 years ago when I was designing the original site lol!
